This is an interesting scenario where Martin has value to us, but is still someone Minnesota is trying to dump. Knowing that, we should squeeze everything we can from both Minnesota and Cleveland. That deal is pretty good for the Bulls, but no reason we shouldn't try and get more.

Multiple sources have confirmed an offer, and they seem to agree that Taj, and McD are part of it. I think we know that much, but not much else. I don't put much stock in what Broussard says, as he clearly hasn't been plugged in much thos off-season.

Totally agree. I don't think that's quite the offer. And in the end, I think the Minnesota owner vetoes our offer and opts for Wiggins' star potential because he can sell hope and have him for several years before he ends up leaving. With our offer they are a 35-win team who won't make the playoffs in the West, even though it makes their team better than one with Wiggins, who right now is all potential and not totally NBA ready.

No doubt. We're not moving Taj for Martin, helping CLE in the process, without getting something for doing so. Dieng is not that.

What incentive do we have to do it, when we could simply cut out CLE? At the very least, a CLE 1st round pick would be coming our way, I'd guess.

Logically it just doesn't pass the smell test.

I consider it unlikely. However, what is being discussed above? Us as a facilitator? DOES pass both the smell and the finger test. TRUST THE FINGER

I don't think we can cut out Clev. either because 1) we don't want Love at the price it would likely take or 2) (more likely) Love has expressed his preference to go to Clev.

Us helping CLE get Love passes the smell test? More so than us offering Taj, McD, Nikola? Or Taj, McD, Dunlevy, Snell, picks--or whatever it would take?

To me, the FO not being willing to make that deal would be a lot more hard to believe than the other way around. My personal opinion.

You have to assume Cleveland is going to get Love with or without our involvement.

I mean cut out CLE, if our goal is Taj for Martin+. What incentive do we have to make that deal? One could argue Martin/Dieng for Taj is far, but NOT if it helps CLE get Love. That doesn't add up to me.

Not that I generally listen to sources, SAS claims Love is forcing his way to CLE......

It's a good time to put our cards on the table, if we are indeed the 3rd team, and ship Taj to the Wolves while gutting CLE...

Would you consider Martin+filler for Taj in separate deal if none of them end up being part of the trade for Love?

Also there is very slim to none chance that Minny will trade Dieng, they are high on him and see him as future starter he is part of their future. Also if they get Wiggins it wouldn't make sense for them to trade their young guys.

Bulls aren't trading Taj for Dieng and Martin to help facilitate Love to Cleveland. Are people here crazy?

Yup, that's what I think. I see your point but that trade just doesn't strike me as likely

I am pretty darn sure this season will start with McD and Niko on the team.

The same incentive the Bulls would hopefully have to make any deal - to make the team better.

I don't necessarily agree that deal makes the Bulls better - but if the FO does I would hope they'd do it - regardless of who ends up in CLE. Bulls need to worry about making their own team better.

I agree. Its going to be fun watching the Bulls kick Cleveland's ass with Nikola and McDirty getting minutes.

Personally, I dont think Niko was ever on the table. Bad PR move. And after investing soo much into the current back court, I dont see them spending even more to add a player that doesnt address our current needs any better.

Im sure we made an offer. Plenty offers. I dont think any involved Niko, Rose or Noah. Anyone else is on the table I would think.

I agree the trade won't happen. But if it did it wouldn't be to facilitate Love to CLeveland, it would be to make the Bulls better.

We don't need Cleveland to trade Taj for Martin and Dieng, though. And as Martin is a dump for them, and Taj seems to be a target--MIN would have no leverage in suggesting we act as the third team or don't make the deal at all.

If the Bulls thought Taj for Martin/Dieng makes the team better--I don't see why that deal hasn't been made. We have to be getting something from Cleveland.

This board makes up a very small minority of fans who even know who Nikola Mirotic is. I don't see PR being at risk, especially not when we've added a big name star in the process--that's what the common fan will care about.
