Teams are not going to take the regular season as seriously for a few years now.
Playoff bound teams are def going to rest players more in April and cite GSW as a legit reason.

This has happened before but it seems like the last decade or so teams have gone all out to get 60+ wins and want the higher seeds.
But watching ATL get nothing out of 60 wins last year and and now GSW and SAS....that rest thing is going to become an issue.

can't wait for Thursday!

OKC could be the first playoff team to beat 2 70 win teams :o
What kind of argument does that start about the greatest team ever?

Well the Spurs rested players and didn't get out of the second round so I'm not so sure that GSW losing will have any impact on whether teams will rest guys more or less in the regular season.

And it's not life GS ran their players into the ground. Steph played like 34 minutes a game.

I think the best thing I'm seeing about all of this is that, for the next 5+ years, you're going to have an awesome rivalry in the Western Conference. It's going to be great.

I really want OKC to pull off this series and the finals against CLE. I never want to see Lebron hoist another trophy again.

ha that's the only way KD stays in OKC. If I were him I'd go to SAS

I still cringe when I see Oklahoma City with an NBA team and Seattle is still left without one

I don't mind if Lebron won a championship for the city of Cleveland. Their fan base has suffered long enough. I hated D Wade way more than Lebron in that Miami fiasco, and as far as I'm concerned anyone but GS. I would enjoy nothing more than watching OKC and the Cavs in the finals. That should be an amazing series.

Can't wait for the game tonight!

11 hrs to go....

anticipating this almost as much as some of those old Bulls series. It's a treat to watch Westbrook dominate like this - it's semi- Jordanesque stuff. They know he's coming but they can't stop him.

Curry won't be guarding him tonight, GSW will counter with something. Do they have anyone? Do you double team him?
I don't see a defending champ going down so easily, this should be a major heavyweight fight tonight...

If I'm GS, I actually bench Bogut and start Iguodala. I have Iguodala cover Russell. I think he's the only one with the footspeed to have a chance as well as length. As soon as Westbrook dribbles, throw the double at him using Roberson's defender. Barnes needs to shadow Durant all game.

As far as offense, have Stephen off the ball. Send him through tons of screens. Have Klay screen and pop for him. Tire out Westbrook.

That's not a bad plan. The TNT guys speculated that Iggy will be on Westbrook too tonight. If I'm Steve Kerr that is my speech to the guys. Stop Westbrook, get the ball out of his hands, somehow....

I think Kerr would do it. Ezeli and Bogut have been huge negatives since they can't hit free throws and aren't fast enough to keep up.

And Stephen has to waste too much energy creating as well as defensively. I'd let him guard Roberson or just flat our roam defensively. Offensively, don't even have him bring up the ball. Screen screen screen screen until he's wide open or until someone has switched on him that he can dance around. This will also allow Stephen to get a head of steam.

As far as Draymond, let him use those passing skills. Eventually Stephen will get doubled which leaves someone open for a layup.

If GS wants to really frustrate OKC, run a double motion screen with Klay and Stephen all game long. Have Iggy bring up the ball, Draymond/Barned as the decoy/off ball screener, and you should have one of Stephen or Klay wide open or an easy dunk.

yeah, i feel the same way. wouldn't mind any of the remaining teams going all the way, though. i'd actually like the warriors to win tonight to at least make a series of it. and if OKC were to close it out in front of their home fans that'd be cool to watch

I want GS to lose tonight. Their imaginary greatness has to die and there should not even be a doubt about their failure. I love Curry as a pioneer for less athletic kids but you want to see greatness from the greatest athletes.

Not a big Larry Bird fan, I take it. Tough break tonight, I suppose.

I'd say this thread has gone off the rails, but it was never on them to begin with.

I've never seen so much irrational hate in a thread on here.

This thread is the only reason I'm rooting for Golden State to win it all. I'm spite-rooting. I admit it.

This thread represents the embarrassingly perfect storm of Bulls fans' insecurities: A 73 win team, led by the point guard who help make the world forget not only the current Derrick Rose, but the Derrick Rose who never sniffed the achievements of this point guard. It makes us all look bad by association. Its such a Knicks fan thing.

Unfortunately, OKC is going to win Game 6.

Westbrook does his fair share in helping the world to forget Derrick. So I don't think Curry being viewed as a player that makes Rose less significant is something unique enough to add to the argument of why Bulls fans would feel insecure about the Warriors.

And what's so bad about rooting for your own team's record to not be broken?

Having said that, Curry has had moments this year that made me temporarily put him on the NBA's Mt. Rushmore. His influence on the game and on this generation of fans cannot be denied even by the most hateful of Bulls and Jordan fans.

Look no further than this thread to find plenty of hateful fans denying it, HP.

Knicks board 2.0.

If the Warriors to happen to win this series, it will be amusing to see who this board will be rooting for in the finals.

Do you root for the Warriors to win so they can cap off their historic season, or do you go for Lebron and Cleveland, who will undoubtedly get Jordan comparisons should he win his 3rd title.

Either way, there will be some pissed off irrational homers, which will be great.

I said this in the GB but I really really want Donovan to play an end of bench player and tell him to just go straight up to Green and high kick him in the face, and take the ejection. Teach that bitch that it's not okay to flail around like that. I'm sure OKC fans would be willing to pay for the fine, someone would just have to setup a gofundme account. Hell I would even chip in

LBJ ain't going to get Mike comparisons after losing 4 Finals. But still, that hypothetical Finals is an easy call. I'd root for all 15 West teams against LeBron.
