will suspension of disbelief until end of season. he isn't making enough to stand in the way of a new coach if current trend continues.

How do folks think about Luke Walton next season?

He's not making much, but why would Garpaxdorf pay 3 coaches if they hire a new coach? Do they have a reason to do so? Being bad is not really relevant here. I don't see any urgency from their perspective to improve the coaching, the roster, the winning, etc.

I think they are paying him so little, so that they can pay 3 coaches. I think it will come down to finding a guy who can get the young guys to play the right way and they'll worry about having guys want to leave for greener pastures in another year.

If Boylen is let go at the end of this season, Bulls dont need to pay him anything beyond that..

Isn’t his assistant contract gaurenteed through next year? They have to pay him something but not much.

Even before that there is always the risk you lose guys to the point they want out. It rarely happens to players on rookie contracts but you never know anymore. Losing becomes toxic.

Paxson has already stated he sees Boylen coaching the team next season. He's spoke highly of him in the brief time he's been the head coach. It is a story because he is likeable to the people that make decisions.

How long have you been following the Bulls. Of course Pax is going to say something like that. Ignore his words. Pax lies all the time, always has, always will. Look at the actions. The actions say "we aren't firing this guy this season, but in no way are we committed to him beyond that."

Yes, the only part of his contract for next year that is guaranteed is the assistant coach's contract he already had.

I can't help but wonder how much additional damage Boylen can do in the next 35+ games. Damn, this is painful to watch.

I keep imagining the league being suspect of the Bulls' FO decisions as promoting tanking.

This Boylen is a fantastic tank commander!

Like his predecessor who delivered us Drose, this studly tank commander is going to deliver us to the promise land this year w/ the #1 overall pick.

I think they learned a thing or two from Mayor Daley. They won’t get caught.
