They need a 3rd star though. Lonzo ain’t that. May want to make a trade for their 3rd star with all those picks.

I think Lonzo should be a key focus for our offseason...He would be a great fit here. Not sure NO is going to match a high price offer, but maybe they do.

You nailed it. Lonzo is such a good defender as well. Would love him as a bull.

But why would NO give up Lonzo? I think they see him as long term fit there too.. Bledsoe for sure aint that!
If NO would accept White and Markannen for sign&trade Ball, great haha

The lack of spacing by the Pels is so frustrating. Such an obvious issue with this team all along.

Looks as if Miami did well at getting Precious Achiuwa with its #20 pick. He didn't play like a rookie. Is athletic, composed, and with quick hands. Whether he will develop an offensive game, I don't know, but he looks at the least to be a useful rotation player.

You guys and your Lonzo infatuation... he's still basically on-track for a post-ACL Rubio/Rondo career (where the younger versions of those guys had more pep in their step, Lonzo kinda plays like the 'old' version of them). Even if his shooting improves, he's not a spacer with the ball in his hands, as much as a light spot-up threat.

This team still needs about 3 more (athletic) forwards (3s and 4s) before I talk about trading for a non-scoring PG.

What is the deal with these blue MIL jerseys? The only thing I ever liked about the Bucks, Celtics and Sonics were their green jerseys. I feel like I'm watching the G-League Utah or Dallas squads.

Lonzo isn't a bad player, but if he had been a #15 pick only New Orleans fans would pay him much attention.

Yeah. I don't dislike his game at all. I just don't think he's worth a RFA offer. He'd be a great pickup if he was actually a bust, and was a $5m reclamation project. But someone's gonna pay him up to $20m a year, and I hope it's not us.

He is essentially exclusively shooting 3Ps right now. Probably a wise analytical decision by SVG to get him comfortable with a 3P clip, open the floor. But he offers zero mid-range/paint FGs after two games. He drew a few fouls in one game. That's just not a recipe for winning in the playoffs, and everybody knows it. He does not have nearly enough scoring skills to ever approach star status. Not a threat getting to the rim. In some ways, I feel like if Sato gained some irrational confidence and caught fire for more than a week, you'd have a better player.

Whether Coby improves or busts, I need a PG who can score from anywhere on the floor off-the-dribble, put the transition defense on ice skates, and have high awareness. I think PG passing is the great misconception of the post-70s NBA. Big men and tall wings are better, more elite passers; it was established in 1980 with Bird and Magic, complimented with Sabonis, Pippen, Kukoc... and further cemented with Lebron, Durant, Luka, Kawhi, Jokic, Simmons. These guys make effortless assists into the paint.

The only way for a PG to dominate with the pass is if they are also able to score and run the fast-break at an elite level, like Kidd, Rondo, Nash and CP3. Lonzo looks like a slow contemplative player; his feet are stuck in molasses. LaMelo at least shows explosiveness and zero-hesitation attack, which resembles the former. NOP may have done the right thing with that Jrue trade, but you can tell they miss him.

To me the best PG is a hyper-confident scorer. Lillard, Paul, Kyrie, Curry, Morant, Dragic (doesn't have to be a superstar, per my point). If I'm not comfortable letting him take a game-winning shot, then I'm not building a young team with him as my starting guard. This is why I'm hanging onto the Coby-wagon until he really proves to be inept; I have zero problems with him taking a contested jump-shot in the last second of a game.

Jerseys irked me as well. Enough to look up the story behind them. Long story short, 3 rivers and Lake Michigan is the reasoning behind the multi-toned blue threads.

Giannis drafted in 2013. Wiggins 2014. Imagine someone in 2013 when Wiggins was still just a high school prospect in Canada that the 15th pick out of Greece that year would be the true future of the league.

Mind blowing.

So Wiseman hasn't missed a 3P yet... is he gonna break some record for rookie 3P%, particularly for a big man?

That's a pretty interesting point, but it has a major flaw. A PG is not supposed to "dominate" with the pass. The occasional highlight passes are a side effect of the main job.

So what is the main job?

Managing the offense and getting the ball to the right guys at the right time. This is something that Coby White has zero talent for. You don't have to be flashy - but you do have to be effective and the ball can't stick to your hand.

Coby is no PG, but the fact that he's not doesn't make him a good SG either. Nothing about that side of his game pops. He's quick but not elite quick. A pretty good shooter, not a great one. Doesn't have length or jumping ability. Has one go-to move, the stepback, which is becoming predictable.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Even though Wiseman didn't make a 3 in college (1 miss in 3 games), his shooting form was one of the things people were counting on translating to the pros.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.
