Russ does bring one thing that the current Bulls are desperately lacking: an edge - alpha-dog anger.

Zach has flashes of it. Vuc too. DeRozan not so much, too laid back. Ayo has some but without the requisite talent to have it make a meaningful impact.

We need a guy on our team who gets pissed, even offended when the other guy scores or stops him from scoring. That said, I'm thinking he ends up on the Clips.

What exactly did the Windhorst tweet say? It's gone.

I wish we could get Alec Burks. He's a solid scorer and a very good 3-point shooter, plus he can play a little PG. I don't know how his defense is these days, but he's got good size. He's the best of the potential buyout guys by far and fills a need for us.

All logical arguments if we’re talking about adding him as a longer term piece. But that’s not what this is if it happens. This is just a roll of the dice with the same level of commitment as an NBA Live signing. In a season that is already in the trash bin.

I can’t think of one single reason to not do it given the circumstances. At the absolute worst it amounts to tossing a match into a roaring fire.

Its Clowley. Nothing logical about what he says. Bulls are 11th in turnovers per game at 13.2. How is that a big enough problem not to go after Westbrook?

I'm hoping the "Russ to Chicago" rumor turns out to be BS. Seems like it is. Too many pretend journos out there.

If you’re referencing that from that bogus Twitter account, then you got got.

However, I do remember you having some semblance of sources, so :dontknow: :dontknow:

I hate his game and think he’s a terrible fit. But I’d still do it.

What a hilariously truthful way to put it lol. I love Russ as an athlete, think he's a pretty cool person, but don't think he plays much of a winning style and isn't a good skillset fit here. But like you, I'd do it anyway. Either it surprisingly improves us a little bit if we can have a fun end to the season with a little bit of playoff action or perhaps even more likely he actively makes us worse and makes the need for real changes more glaring.

At the end of the day I have conceited that Caruso and Ayo and Coby are not point guards and should not be guys with the ball in their hands that much.

That leaves Russ versus Lavine and Dragic. I think you can know that Russ kind of sucks and still logically believe that he's better as your primary ball handler than Zach due to agression and passing ability, and better than Dragic due to defense and finishing ability.

I know Westbrook's defense has declined over the years but is it safe to say that it's still better than Dragic and probably better than Zach on opposing point guards?

I wouldn't mind Terrence Ross for some shooting and midrange plays. A better fit than Westbrook.

People keep saying Westbrook isn't a good fit for this team, I feel like that has more to do with some still thinking he is overrated from his MVP days & some pissed the Bulls did nothing at the trade deadline. Other then not shooting the three well, what exactly is the problem and how exactly are the Bulls better off without him? He is a point guard that while not at the level of 4 years ago, is still a good player. He is going to run the offense better then anyone currently on this team. Either way we are not winning a title this year.

With the Bulls, it's about filling in deficiencies. With our starters, we need someone who takes the ball out of Demar's hands as a ISO player, and redistributes it to Zach, Pat and Vuc to facilitate good shots (open 3's and dunks), plays good defense and makes 3's. Obviously, that's not a role Westbrook can play. I had hoped Ayo could do that, but he clearly can't right now, despite showing flashes early this season. I personally think the right move with Westbrook is to start Caruso and feature Russ with a defensive/rebounding bench line-up of Russ, Coby/Ayo, Green (when he returns), DJJ and Drummond. That group has lacked a scoring PG.

I'll say this much if Russ choses us over Miami and LA then its actually a feather in the cap of AK if not just from a public perception standpoint.

Russ may be more Russell these days vs his old MVP years but the fact that a player with his "name" choosing us over especially Miami is actually positive sign of peer group rehab if nothing else...

AKME forgot to mention the "baby steps" part of their plan

Of course Russ is a horrible shooter but he is averaging 7.5apg which is what akme is probably looking at.?

One possible good thing with Russ is he may be able to let Zach and Demar play off the ball more, but if Russ goes into hyper iso and chucking mode, he is gonna hurt everybody else's game.

If Russ goes in chucking mode. Then play Drummond more. His rebounding will be the key.

That helps Zach and P.Will but DeMar is screwed off ball lol... Wish we could have traded him for a 3andD player...

Should have just offered Demar and the Portland pick to Washington and they would have probably filled all their wholes if they accepted.
