Derrick's ACL injury occurred on his landing from a hop/jump step. Your fear is not irrational. I feel the same way every time he drives, but it will settle in time.

And unfortunately in Paul Georges case, sometimes you can be on the verge to land perfectly and an outside variable is what causes the injury. Basketball has this element more than any other sport.

It seemed like it was pretty much what happened to Anderson silva, seemed like his shin bone? Not the ankle. I think George will be back but it would be better for Indy to have him sit the entire year even playoffs. I think MMA to BBall is different though because Silva does pound that same bone to an opponent but in the NBA, all that jumping creates a ton of weight on that bone.

This is why landings are so important. In PG's case not much he could do given the angle but I am freaked out seeing Rose land with all his weight on 1 leg for no apparent reason. Imagine if he lands on someones foot...

People need to relax with this, it's a freak injury. It can happen in practice, a scrimmage, a pickup game, etc. injuries can happen at any time.

It's basketball and was a fluke play. It's not like Pau and Derrick won't be playing pick up games if they don't play for their countries. You can never be 100% injury proof.
