If possible (I know White can't be traded at the moment)....who does White and LaVine for Beal...right now?
BTW, I like both White and LaVine....but I also like Beal....quite a bit.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Miami is actively trying to upgrade its roster.
Dion Waiters is making $12m this year and $12.5m next year. He would be a great 6th man for the Bulls and solidify the 2/3 spot without jeopardizing the 2021 flexibility.
The Bulls could trade Dunn and Valentine for him.
Miami wouldn't do this but a 3rd team looking to tank would save $5m this year and $12.5m next year while getting two roster spots filled for this year. OKC for Paul or Washington for Beal both fit.
Sato / White ........ / Arci
Lavine / Waiters...../ Blakeney
Otto ................../ Hutch
Lauri / Thad
Wendell ............. / Kornett / Gafford
Is a rotation I would feel pretty good about.

Waiters isn't a guy I think we want to add to the roster. He's a ball dominant non-shooter.

Beggars can't be choosers. Its not like Chicago is trading much. He would come off the bench and 60% of his shots last year were 3's.

He’s got skinny again he’s gonna be in his bag lol
Waiters shot 37% from 3 last year on 6.6 attempts when he returned from injury . He’s shot almost 35% from 3 for his career
Bulls get waiters
Heat
Paul
Dunn
Felicio
Thunder
Dragic
Olynyk
Picks

Meh trade but rather gamble on Waiters potential than stuck with those players.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

I was thinking about this scenario myself recently. My concern would be that Waiters, at 6'4", would force LaVine to play more SF than we'd like.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
I'm not much of a Waiters fan but I'm down for Dunn/Val for him.
He's an expiring and would provide a scoring punch off the bench. Dunn doesn't have a future here nor does he have much value, Valentine(whom I actually like) missed the entire season so who knows how he'll play.

Waiters doesnt have the length for SF. 8'2" standing reach. He's also a chucker with a sub .5 career TS%. I don't think he'd help at all.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
The guy I'm hoping we nab is Duncan Robinson from MIA:
Duncan Robinson scored 26 points on 9-of-21 shooting (4-of-4 FTs) against the Pelicans on Saturday, adding eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, two blocks and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
I would be thrilled if we were able get them Dunn (and other filler) for a bigger contract and got Robinson as part of that deal.

Bulls could pull a Clippers on him, but won’t, and given his impending super-Max, shouldn’t.
Dallas, otoh, would be a team that probably should throw a ton at getting Beal ... to team with Luka and Porzingis.
Raptors another team who could justify going all in.
A dark horse might be Memphis... they have assets and Ja, JJJ, Clarke, Brooks and Beal?

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Atlanta just waived Jaylen Adams, so Trae Young is the only PG on their roster. They are looking to sign a PG but the pickings are slim. And they have 5 SFs on their roster, including Hunter and Reddish. Is there a trade possible? Only possible player that would work for the Bulls is SF DeAndre Bembry. He is an expiring contract (end of rookie contract) at $2.6 M this year. He doesn't shoot 3's very well, but he is great at defense and can get to the rim. If we traded Dunn for Bembry, we would clear up $2.7 M in cap space to sign the UniKornet. Possible deal?

I think the Bulls would like to do better, but this may be the best they can do. I agree that Miami with Waiters is another possible angle, especially as the Heat negotiate to get Paul and/or Beal.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Actually Beal has 2 years left on his 5 year contract. He would be eligible for the supermax in his age 28-29 season. That would not be terribly old.MGB8 wrote:MalagaBulls wrote:Beal may be on the block this season:panthermark wrote:If possible (I know White can't be traded at the moment)....who does White and LaVine for Beal...right now?

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Haha, how about a fantasy trade of Beal <--> Dunn/LaVine.
It works in the trade machine but I think Washington would need a sweetner.

I saw maybe 3 or 4 ATL games this season, and Bembry certainly didn't stick out, has someone seen something that I haven't?

Actually I floated the idea over on the Wizards board & they wanted an AD or PG haul. Multiple 1st's, pick swaps, plus LaVine. That ain't gonna happen.Ccwatercraft wrote:it would be weird with beal, sato, porter on our team, would we be the chicago wizards then?

Dunn & Felicio for Crabbe works. Bulls take on more money this season and get much-needed wing depth that is expiring. Atlanta saves money this season, gets a backup point guard plus a year look at Dunn in their system. Felicio is just contract filler.
