$30m for Giddey would look very good if he gets this contract!

That Kuminga deal hunting is pure nuts.

You are paying a max salary based on pure potential. He's certainly shown some ability but the reality is that he's a 16/4 player as present.

Watch AK sign & trade for him this offseason with Vuc finally going to GS.

I hadn't seen this posted anywhere. Just saw it on Facebook.

View from the bench of Giddeys half court game winner and the celebrations afterwards.

Bobby Marks thinks Kuminga will really get $30M...which is still a lot for an upside of 20 ppg and no other meaningful contributions. Not sure what he does well other than score near the basket, but he's extremely good at that. I guess it's more that $30M is looking pretty normal for a non-star who can put up some good #s with rising cap.

Why would the Warriors even consider this? Who are they bidding against for Kuminga at max? Nets aren't giving him a max with Cam Johnson in tow, where's he going to get a competing offer anywhere near that?

I like Kumana's ceiling more than Giddeys probably but he's clearly delusional. If you're butting heads on a team with Kerr/Steph then you're likely going to be a headache anywhere.

I liked Giddey a ton more a month ago when he was 20-25 a year. At the end of the day i like his playmaking and size so much that i would be ok for 4 and 120. But man oh man, he really needs to strive to improve as a defender. He's ever going to shut his guy down but the last 3 games i've watched have been pretty pathetic even from an effort level.

Not running back in transition/late on rotations costs your team lots of points fast in todays modern NBA. Not nearly as humiliating as getting blown by on the perimeter over and over again I don't think casuals understand how damaging guys like Giddey/Lavine can be structurally to your defense. We need an Ime or Thibs as our head coach really badly.

I'm still rooting for the Nets to do it and take themselves out of the Giddey sweepstakes.

Would be great, ngl. Guess they could try Kuminga at SF. :) We need Giddey to be bad the next couple of weeks. I said all season long the worst thing that could happen to us is if Giddey breaks out before we re-sign him. He's easily the most attractive young free agent now.

Nets are in a power position. Once they sign a free agent or two, they lose that. They can take contracts, usually better deals than FA, and stack assets from teams trying to clear cap for 2026. Like they could probably add Durant while giving up little in actual assets if they wanted. Or Zion or lower-level players on good contracts but on teams that desperately need to clear cap.

Giddey is tied for the best defender on the Bulls by defensive rating along with Lonzo & Zach Collins (technically Jalen Smith is 1 point per 100 better but he barely plays).

"Best defender on the Bulls" probably doesn't mean much, but he's not dragging the Bulls D down, it's the opposite. We have the best D when either he, lonzo, or Collins are playing.

The Bulls’ defensive issues honestly start and end with Vuc.

After that, Pat, Giddey and Coby are all capable of weak man-to-man, but that has little to do with the Vuc lay-up line.

Sometimes there are breakdowns with Zach in the game, but it seems to be happening only since he moved to the bench and enters with rather random lineups.

Defensive rating is an absolutely worthless stat.

They would be absolutely insane to pay him that. He hasn’t anything closed to be a max contract player.
