According to Stein, Bulls don't feel as confident about luring Melo away from NY, which is why their interest in Gasol is so high.

None of the Bulls writers have mentioned a lack of confidence yet. In fact, its been the exact opposite.

That's only $68 mil.
Per year means nothing. Guaranteed dollars do.

$68 million has no chance.

How many times does it need to be spelled out to you....The contract isn't the same amount every year....THERE ARE ESCALATING RAISES

Only 7.5% though so the starting point means a lot.

Apparently Laurence Holmes has a friend that knows Melo. That friends thinks there is a really good chance he leaves New York for Chicago.

Also Marc Stein reported Bulls are talking to Gasol because of uncertainty of Melo deal happening.

my initial thoughts.

Knicks take Gibson in a S&T and the replacement is Gasol.

This all day. More empty speculation from the booyahs.

I suppose the Bulls should just ignore the the rest of the NBA is moving on without Melo, and only one team of thirty actually gets to have him?

I agree. It's nothing but speculation on his part I even tweet him on that not to worry guys

The tweet says a source says that it's plan b.

The Bulls brand worldwide dwarfs any Knick brand that may exist worldwide because of Jordan and Jordan alone. Melo will Make MORE in Chicago.

Yeah, I can't imagine playing in Chicago would exactly be a terrible thing for a Jordan brand athlete.

Plus, Bulls colors >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Knicks colors :D

OMG if true.

Yeah. Melo is gonna make almost the same as Gortat.

You can see from all of the responses that you're getting that you're doing nothing here but stirring the pot. In other words, trolling. Please consider this your last warning. Peace.

They don't? Well considering they don't have the money, and have a hobbled star yeah we all can see that. They put their best foot forward though. We will know in a week.

No Jordan dwarves it not really the bulls brand. The Knicks are on equal footing if not better.

He didn't say "really good" IIRC. Just that there's a real chance and that this isn't a dog and pony show.

I wouldn't mind Gasol but not for the asking price I saw in an article which was something around 11-12 a year. If he wants to come on the cheap that's fine but rebuilding at this point is an over reaction. Let's see how Derrick does this up coming year.

Whatever money he loses, he'll make up when Jordan/ nike release a 'playoff' color way of his shoe- something they can't do if he plays in NY or LA next year.
Derrick Rose will do 1 of 2 things in the 2014-2015 NBA Season: 1) Return to MVP form and prove you wrong, or 2) Fail to return to MVP form and prove me wrong. Either way, one of us will end up looking like an ***hole.

if the bulls send out snell, dunleavy, and boozer in a 3 way trade, can they take an equal contract value back?

I think the dust will settle soon and Melo will just go back to NY and give Phil a chance to rebuild that team.

Meh b & b are pretty informed but they would rather do shock radio, but honestly Bernstien actually does do research. It is just tiresome listening to his elitism. Boers has connections but he cares so little, and is the highest paid sports radio jock in the industry. They follow a Howard stern model just get listeners love or hate you. The score is better than espn because they have freedom. That being said the game might establish itself they all suck honestly but if listening to the radio you need ratings one way or another. Mike and Mike are pros and have soooooo little content. Holmes is way better than jhood though no doubt.

I meant Mulley and Hannley seem ill informed.

With B&B, they just like to act like jag offs and it seems they purposely only allow callers on that don't know anything just so they can trash them. Elitism is a good word to describe them.

I can't stand J Hood. Now that's definitely a dude that has no clue what he's talking about.
