We should keep Ayo even if we sign Tre. Terry, Huerter, White, most of our guards are expiring, not like we won't have room. Ball's gone, we'll have two guards guaranteed for next season after Giddey re-signs if we re-sign Tre. We presently have zero guards with guaranteed money in 2026.

Vuc to Hornets?

They traded Nurkic for Sexton. How only have who they drafted at C.

Sure he piles up stats but when has Randle played on a winner, he's on his 4th team, did any of then see him as the difference make, they all moved on from him still trying to win

I can easily see Josh Giddey at 4/$120

His current team. 21/5/5 on 62% TS in the playoffs. The Wolves don't have many alternatives, if any, to replace this level of production.

I have no problem keeping Ayo even if we keep Tre as "Coby" insurance (if he leaves). Selling now is selling low on Ayo. That said, I think many here think of Ayo as "the best of Ayo" version. IMO, he hasn't been a better-than-average defender since his rookie year (IMO he bulked up and lost the quickness that he had as a rookie to stay in front of the quicker guards). As such, his role has shifted to guarding 2's and 3's, but Okoro is better at that.
If we can get a non-lotto 1st for him (unlikely), I think I'd prefer that.

Ayo's only played 4 seasons. Reportedly he was injured most or all of last season and played. He's only 25. We've seen him be good for a consistent period before. So yes, it's logical to expect as he heads into his prime that he's at least as good as he was year 3 I think. Which is a solid two-way role player. He looks like he works hard and has a good motor, I don't bet against those types of guys rebounding. Was arguing the exact same thing about Vucevic's shooting rebounding in the weeks before the season started, not doing that again. :) We'll see.

His best season was year 3 by most stats. His last healthy season.

This is so bad it feels like an AK move.
Utah traded Sexton, an 18 ppg player > 40% from 3, for Nurkic. On a tanking team. And Utah gives Charlotte a pick to make it happen.

Think I read somewhere Utah doesn't get their pick next year unless they pick 8 or above and they're trying to tank. Going to be hard already with Bailey and Markannen. Might have something to do with it. Don't see how Charlotte gets the pick, though.

Jazz are clearly tanking.

Ace will be chucking shots all season. Great rookie tank commander.

There have been rumors Lakers have strong interest in Kessler. Maybe the offers attractive enough they decided to add another center before the trade. 2025 is Kessler's last cheap season, somebody's paying him next summer.

Tari Eason might be available, considering Jabari Smith's recent extension.

He's great. Would we consider Noa for him?

25M for Jabari… don’t like that deal.

He certainly hasn’t earned that. All potential projection. Tradable I guess.

Tari would work if Pat wasn’t here.

Noa will play a similar role to Tari once he settles in.

What do the Lakers have?

Kessler is about to be crazy overpaid and he will cost probably two 1sts.

Rockets rumored to want DFS on the MLE.

Maybe they trade Tari for a SG

Dalton Knecht. Think that's who they sent in that rescinded Mark Williams trade. Has two more cheap years on his contract than Kessler. Huge money saver for Utah. Probably $60 mill or more over those 2 years. that's worth a pick or two.

Looks like the Lakers own their own 2026 1st rd pick, and all their firsts from 2028-2032 besides 2029. They have picks to trade again if needed. They won't care about overpaying Kessler in LA.

Ayton to the Lakers makes too much sense. Not seeing many destinations for Vuc, honestly.

Yeah, I agree.. Ayton to Lakers is big possibility!

I still have small hope we trade Vucevic somehow and get back younger center and thats it, but very unlikely it happens before trade deadline! Also Buyout Carter and lets move on..

Giddey, Jones, J.Young
White, Ayo, Terry
Huerter, Okoro, PWill
Buzelis, Essengue, Phillips
Collins, Smith, new youngster

OK so CHA sends their only center, no disrespect to Taj, Williams to PHX

explain why they wouldn't want an expiring Vucevic to hold the position until next summer when they go out to find their long term answer. If they have Miller and Knueppel who can play the SF they don't need Miles Bridges to tank, and they chop off the final #22M of his contract plus Vuc's $21.5 they can find a center

Return to Chicago Bulls
