Wow. Thats interesting. So, the Bulls are going to trade up.
Trying to.... and accomplishing it are not the same
I take it as the Bulls have identified the player they want (seems like Bamba) and they're gonna try to see if they can strike a deal to get said player. If Bamba lasts until #4, which is a very likely scenario Bulls and Grizzlies have made sense for awhile now as trade partners. We've beaten the trade possibilities to death. This is exciting.

Is he though? When did he ever make a great pick that went against conventional logic?
Serious question. I'm asking because I can't think of any really.
Channing Frye
David Lee
Marcus Camby ( oh, yeah)
Trevor Ariza ( crazy drafting)
Renaldo Balkman
Wilson Chandler
Lee, Camby, Chandler, Ariza have all had very good careers relative to where they were picked. And Frye is still in the league, though a failure compared to his being a Top 10 pick.
Isiah Thomas the drafter is definitely leagues better than Isiah Thomas the trader and the check giver.
Still nothing all that special. Not the best drafter since 1989 at the time. Balkman was the only real shot in the dark that surprised people.

What's the point of trading now when you don't know if your guy is going to be there? Memphis, however, have different motivation. They must be highly motivated now because they need to save some money. We, on the other hand, do not have to do **** because our target might happen to be there at 7. Btw, I have not heard of anything connecting the Bulls to Luca, which I find to be strange. Is he even a consideration? I remember Pax saying how we need sizes and athleticism on the wing with the way the league is going. Is it why Doncic is not in the picture?

Sounds like Memphis is only trading down if Doncic isn't available. I think Chicago believes Dallas will take Bamba so they're trying to at least get to 4, or maybe 5 if Memphis decides to stay at 4 anyway and not select Bamba.
Or you could replace Bamba for Jackson here, who knows.
