That thread should be called "Melo Thread 20 And 1".

YES IT SHOULD! Except, 21; And-1. I freakin' told you guys!!! After the 19.1 debacle, our Thread Count is off and our Melo plans can't move forward until the universe has regained proper balance.

"Melo 21; And-1" would be exactly what we need. I've got a really good feeling here...

In order for Melo to get his cake and eat it too (and we being the cake of course) he has to make everyone BELIEVE he's going to LA or else NYK / Phil calls his bluff. So of course it's "just between LA and NYK". That's what he's leaking naturally.

...Yet wouldn't he have picked one already if it was between them? Lol

Let the agents do their do their damn jobs and get Melo his $$ before he comes to Chicago. Time IS on our side. ;)

Meanwhile , Love gets traded, Stephenson signed elsewhere, Gasol leaves LA for free agency and gets signed up , LeBron to Cavs, Bosh to wherever, and we ended up waiving Boozer and re-signing Mike James.

don't forget Parsons is going to Dallas and Afflalo is off the board.

If the Bulls are going to sign Melo with cap space, among other things, they can't do it till Boozer is amnestied. And that can't happen till July 10th.

100 pages.

So we've had 2,000 pages on Melo thus far...

100 pages X 20 posts = 2000 posts give or take.

The CBA is like a haunted enchanted forest. I will never be able to understand or explain what is going on. I feel like it wasn't long ago that the CBA was just a minor league basketball league, how it became a legal contractual grounds mystifies me to this day.

Waiting on Gasol is a long-shot idea. But Melo has to know that does nothing to make them seriously competitive next year. Gasol also said he would only take a paycut for a winner and that's not in NY. So doesn't make sense on any levels.

which is why the Bulls are the top choice 8-)

Waiting on L.A. is equally nonsensical. Either he's truly torn up by this decision (seems unlikely), or there are machinations happening behind the scenes.

What they are, no clue.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Cutting a regressing player that wasn't a scheme fit was the smart decision, Reid knows what he's doing with that. Only thing I don't get, is the 0 planning of replacing him whether it was FA or the draft(other than Gaines, who will definitely not be a short term replacement). Sean Smith is nice, but can't be the no.1 on a playoff team.

Marcus Cooper played well at times. Young rookie. They also have Ron Parker who made plays when in.

I know about Cooper, but I don't think the core is deep enough to constitute being okay with rolling them out against the Broncos and Chargers twice a year, not to mention Brady, Russell Wilson, Roethlisberger and Kaepernick (probably relying more on Hali and Houston to affect his play)

I am sure Stein has sources but to rule something out because no one had told him it was possible? Seems short sighted. Sign and trades always happen in these situations. It's good business for all involved. Even the Knicks' stance on sign and trades is already being reported as changing the last two days.

Yeah, Pau Gasol is really going to turn the Knicks around next year...

My post was more directed at the possibility of the Knicks re-signing Melo, not acquiring Gasol.

Broussard update on ESPN: sticking with 75 million number for Bulls and saying its Knicks/Lakers and Bulls distant third.

Lol - and that's why Melo doesn't have you as an agent - jk :)

It will come to a head this week - I'm still convinced this was planned out by GarPax months ago and is going exactly to plan
