Wow. Cincy trying to take the award for stupidest team in the field today.

When did 3 points a possession and/or field position become insignificant in the NFL?

I get that you can't win with all field goals. But wouldn't 10-0 be better for the Bears?

Yep and I just blasted Cincy for it.

I think it's becoming more and more common for teams to do this. the analytics point to this being a good play.

Seems like CIN is building their defense on stopping CHI's running game.

If you pass up a field goal and get the first down you still have to put the ball in the end zone from 30 yards out. The best td red zone percentage in the NFL last season was 75%. Multiple teams were under 50%.

The average 4th down conversion rate is right at 50%. Well... not for Nagy...but....

Interesting write up on field goal trends although it's a year old:

A lot of teams will go for it on 4th and short between the 35-45. It's a long fg, or possibly a punt that might only net you 15-25 yards.

Slow this game down in the second half, RPO and let Justin and David carry us home with the occasional play action.
