It's all about the money, I would be worried if my player would keep referring to money as motor. Where is the desire to play ball??

Eh whatever we all know that money is their main goal. Can’t blame them.

This is so exciting. I'm going to be at the festival trying to watch the draft on my phone. lol. I'm about to head out. Everyone enjoy the draft. I'll be checking in but not posting much until Friday morning. Maybe tomorrow morning early. Go Bulls! Get it done Pax! I expect Bamba to be a Bull tomorrow night!

https://www.boston.com/sports/nba/2018/06/20/nba-draft-mo-bamba-kevin-garnett

Bamba told Garnett he wants to be a unicorn in the NBA, “making plays and doing things no one has ever done before.” He said he wants to enter the league and have “as much impact as possible,” but he also emphasized that’s just the beginning.

Garnett said he sees a lot of himself in Bamba, noting that the first things he notices in a player are their “desire” and “passion.”

“It wasn’t by coincidence I reached out to him,” Garnett said.

Felicio not Asik

Either one lol. Just get it done.

I think 2 years from now people are gunna look back on this and say they would have given up a lot more to have a chance at Bamba.

If it's Felicio we can keep Parsons this year, then stretch him next offseason and his cap hit in summer '19 won't be any bigger then what Felicio's contract would have been, which keeps the dream alive of possibly having 2 max contract spots available in 2019. (note: re-signing LaVine long term kills this dream)

Exactly. This whole red shirt thing next season is a load of crap. Makes no sense at all. MPJ came back right after surgery to try and help his draft stock, so why would he now sit out 16 months. I’m sure his agent and Pax plannned this to help scare other teams.

Fixed.

Yeah okay that’s smart. Come back from surgery when your nonwhere near 100 percent. Sure sounds like he’s trying to help his draft stock.....not!

Wait. So you think not having any court time whatsoever, (i.e. at least showing he can do something as simple as RUN again), and then coming straight from HS woulda been a good thing?

Well we can agree to disagree then.

Why the f*** would the Grizzlies do that. You dont think anyone else in the league could top that offer...come on bro. Denzel and Grant dont have value. The whole point of Memphis trading down would be for them to shed salary...otherwise whats the point for them.

Someone send G Buckets down to the G League

Thanks for sharing. I liked this quote.

“I’d be sitting here lying if I’m saying I didn’t want it all,” Bamba said. “I want everything and anything I can get from this game. Because in reality, I owe this game my life.”

Seems like he has a different perspective than Ayton (or, he easily could just be a lot better at presenting himself).

The difference between this quote and Ayton's one about measuring success by getting a second contract is everything.

I like both players, but I really like Bamba. I hope we can trade up and get him.

Interesting when we starting the first thread this season discussing the 2018 draft, there were a handful of people talking up Doncic while the rest were calling him a bust and wanting the Bulls to pick between Ayton and Bagley. Fast forward to today, with all the hype on ESPN and Bleacher Report, it seems A LOT less people are putting Doncic in the bust category. Interesting how media can sway your thought process.

Sounds like Memphis is only trading down if Doncic isn't available. I think Chicago believes Dallas will take Bamba so they're trying to at least get to 4, or maybe 5 if Memphis decides to stay at 4 anyway and not select Bamba.

Or you could replace Bamba for Jackson here, who knows.

Doesn't Dallas have the 5th pick? At worst we'd have to trade with Memphis. I guess it all really depends on what Atlanta does - Doncic or JJJ. Bagley is going to the Kings

With Shroder in doubt, Atlanta will need a floor leader. Doncic as point forward makes total sense. They've been rumored to love JJJ for a long time and also Young. I don't think they'll take Bamba.

Yeah - so my thought is, if Atlanta doesn't draft Doncic, then Memphis will keep their pick and draft him and not trade w/ us anymore. Another variable. IF we really want Bamba, we'd have to hope Doncic goes in the top 3.

Boston could probably top that offer in a heartbeat.

Yes. That’s what the private workouts are for. MPJ said before playing he was no where near 100 percent and did it to help his team win in the tourney.

Did you not see how bad he looked in those college games. He had zero lift. Look at all these posters in this forum alone dissecting his game because of those 2 college games.

A lot of teams could top that offer but that doesn't mean they are going to offer anything for the pick. The Kawhi situation may help the Bulls because it may force Boston to preserve their assets.

But also agree, Memphis would never do that trade.

Valentine is a good shooter on a rookie contract, Memphis has lacked in that department.

I'd also be willing to give them the ability to swap first round picks in 2020 if they were interested. Basically saying I don't want Parsons. Also the Bamba/JJJ do not want to go to Memphis so they may take WCJ instead.

Valentine by all means is trash. He's your classic average at everything but excellent at nothing. He's a decent shooter at best.

Once they moved the court, the pair worked on developing shots on different parts of the floor. Bamba said Garnett gave him “some counters, some A moves, some B moves, some C moves, and different things to get the defender off balance.” Garnett also shared a “cheat code” to help him with his free throws.

“Keep that on the wraps,” Garnett said. “If that cheat code come out, me and the crew going to come find you.”

Bamba said he enjoyed learning the new moves, especially the fadeaways.

“My shooting ability, at this size, that’s something guys are really looking for at the next level,” Bamba said. “He did a real good job of bringing fire into me. Personally coming into this, I always thought motivation came from within. But I think KG somehow pulled a little bit more out of me.”

I love this article. U can damn near feel KG's passion through the words

Hell of a motivator
