Rough day for the Ball brothers. Lonzo 1-9 for 3 points and LaMelo 1-10 for 5 points.

I don't know if the trade would still work without Zach and the Bulls involved, but if so the Kings should've taken the 2025 Bulls pick instead of him.

Or instead of Zach maybe ask for Vassell?

I don't think Zach is a bad player, but why did the Kings think pairing Zach with DDR was a good idea?

Can you imagine being Zach and finally get rid of DDR in the summer only to be traded to play with him again? Being without a PG again? Honestly I feel for Zach and can see why he is deflated and not happy at all.
I am still happy we traded him, even for the little return we got.

I'm 100% sure DeMar is big problem for Zach's game / game flow.. we have seen it here for years and now thats the same **** in SAC. Just bad fit team.. replace DeMar with starting PG and you would see much better Zach. DeMar is just bad fit for 90% of NBA teams at this stage.. his 2 clutch wins per season doesnt make up for killing space, killing pace, killing smooth transitions and other bad things in modern NBA.

Give Kings in offseason starting PG, solid PF starter with Monk, Zach and Sabonis and you will get playoff team. Bench with Carter, Ellis, Keegan, Jonas etc, you can be something.

Kings should trade DeMar 100% in summer.. if Morant is available for trade, they should at least try!

Only Good thing there for Zach is 45min drive from home...

From what I recall:

1. Murmurs of Brand not being good enough to be the Bulls’ main guy (and not wanting to max him).

2. Krause thought Chandler was the 2nd coming of Garnett (this one always confused me: TC seemed to have concrete mittens for basketball hands, whereas KG could effectively play PG).

I think he thought the twin towers were gonna dominate the NBA. He really bombed that draft, especially considering all the lotto talent (Pau, JRich, Battier, Amare, Joe Johnson, Richard Jefferson).. then you had late 1st & 2nds like Parker, ZBo, Arenas. Hilarious that Krause and Jordan bombed 3 of the 4 top picks.

For some reason this has been lost to history and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article it appeared in appears to be long gone, but as a Clipper playing a road game against the Bucks Brand was asked about being traded by the Bulls and responded candidly. The truth is vastly different from the commonly held belief.

Brand admitted that prior to that year’s draft he, through David Falk (who was fresh off repping MJ and hated the Bulls and Krause), demanded a trade and informed the Bulls he would never sign an extension when his rookie deal ended.

I read it. In Brand’s own words. I used to be able to find the article and post it here to prove it, but it’s been over decade since I’ve been able to find it.

I was always fine with the Brand trade and still am. But that was Brand and Falk’s trade, not Krause’s. Though yes Krause did love Chandler as a prospect.

Did the Bulls tank back then? Or was it just a bad team?

They were 2-3 years into a tank caused naturally by the blow up of the Dynasty.

That's what I thought, which means they never tanked on purpose? Or, at least, not in any meaningful way...?

It's a shame that the front office didn't think Butler was good enough to build around and even wasted a year with the Wade/Rondo signings.

However, is he top 10? If he is he's barely top 10, but that's impressive for his age.

Both Paxson and Krause tanked. It just didn’t work in the ideal way that would land you a franchise player.

Still? When has he ever been a top 10 player? ESPN ranked him 12th after the 2022-23 season, where he finished 10th in MVP and 12th for DPOY.

In no one year since then has he been a top 10 player. His best statistical season was probably his last in Chicago. 23.9 ppg 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.9 steals. Was an All Star and made All NBA 3rd team. His 25.1 PER (Which was better then MVP Rose 23.5) put him 13th in the NBA that season. And the Bulls finished 41-41.

It's only 6 games but the new-look Dubs are rolling people. I can't overstate the improvement that comes from Wiggins out, Butler in. It's huge. I assume not huge enough to make the Warriors a true contender, despite what Draymond says. But they're going to be a nasty first-round opponent (as of course will also be the Lakers).

Yeah, it's such a tough haul. They will have to play one of OKC, Denver, Memphis, or the Lakers in the first round, and then very likely one of those teams again in the second. So, the odds are against them. That said, as I wrote, nobody will want to face a Curry/Butler playoff combo.

I'm so happy with the Jimmy trade. It gives me a team to root for this dead throwaway season. It's crazy how people are STILL underestimating him. Especially now that he's next to a GOAT level player in Steph. This is the pairing I desperately wanted to see on the bulls.

.... Now if somehow gsw could pull off a trade for Lauri this off season the perfect trifecta would be complete 8-)

I dislike Jimmy since he started acting like drama queen, beefs with teammates, beefs with coaches, managements etc.. wherever he has been! Competitive guy ok, but dont be a moron..
