One down, and just 15 to go. Lets get at least 8-9 more and I might be happy.

If you look at stats, Mitch won this battle.

338 yards compared to 280 yards
3 touchdowns compared to 2 touchdowns

Running back rushing yards: 84 compared to 104.

I don’t know that I’d call this an “awful” performance by Mitch. But he certainly wasn’t as good as he will need to be. When you make clutch throws to bring your tram back, that’s worth something no matter who it is against.

After the way that game ended, It's hard to feel overly enthusiastic about that win. Credit the offense for fighting their way back in it, but the defense was about to blow that game if Swift didn't drop the game winning score.

Obviously, it's better to be 1-0 than 0-1, but it shouldn't overshadow some of the glaring weaknesses that they put on display in the game today on both sides of the ball.

The positives:

-Trubisky's 4th quarter
-WR's made some plays
-Running game
-Jaylon Johnson's debut (just about everytime somebody threw his way, he was all over the receiver; nearly had an INT in the redzone)

The negatives:

-Trubisky's first 3 quarters looked too much like last season
-Pass rush was nonexistent, Khalil Mack hasn't done much since the first Vikings game of last year.
-Run defense was unacceptable (Eddie Goldman's absence looks like it's going to be a big deal).

Very winnable game next week against the Giants. I hope Robert Quinn can come back next week.

I'm basically happy to see the comeback, but not yet at all convinced. This could have easily gone the other was if touchdown pass was not dropped.

Regardless, it was great to see the team take advantage of this opportunity. They are now +1 in the standings, and that is all that really matters.

I trust the pass rush will figure itself out, nice to see the offense lead the team to a big W for a change.

Patterson is a game changer at KR
Miller/Robinson are a plus duo at WR
Running game looked the best it's looked since Howard/Cohen year 1
Jimmy made a difference in the red zone
Mitch sucked but then came alive. Something to build on for next week.

This defense can play better. Could be a really fun season.

If somehow 4th quarter Mitch can become 4 quarters Mitch, we're in business. Dude is nails late in games, which of course contradicts the prevailing wisdom that he's weak-minded. He needs to be more assertive early.

Without any preseason, It's going to be harder than ever to determine what any of these early wins mean.

In these early games. guys are just trying to get into the swing of full speed mode.

How many of you guys here today, are secretly larger Bears fans than Bulls fans. I fall into that category.

I support both teams, but if I had to choose I'd rather see the Bears be successful.

Baseball and hockey does little for me, but I will still pull for them when they have a chance to win. If not I never follow either until the playoffs.

How many games have the Bears won against the Lions that the Lions should have won? I feel like this happens every other year.
