I think Philly gave up way too much for harden. Little to do with harden and mostly with the fact that with all the drama people have forgotten how great Simmons is. Elite defender and pass who has the ability to put 40 on you even with his shooting woes. They got rid of a good role player in Drummond, one of the best shooters in curry and two 1st for because the guy they had couldn’t hit free throws and in the end they ultimately got a guy who has choked regularly in the playoffs

Of course the last time Durant, Irving and Harden played together was when they obliterated the Bulls. Only 16 games together out of 113 total games since they got Harden

Moorey waited too long for the trade. Probably could have trade Simmons for someone like Paul George straight up in the off season and probably could have trade for lillard for a lot less than what was given up for harden right now considering they’d traded away Cj for so kilter

Only way this trade does not end up looking like a disaster for Philly is if they win the title this year and/or Harden resigns with Philly

What makes you think there's any chance of Harden not re-signing in Philly?

I dunno I guess I haven't really thought about it other than the fact that he's a FA and players like Harden typically like to orchestrate their next moves.

This WAS Harden orchestrating his next move. There's no way Morey did this without some kind of reassurance from Harden that he'd stay.

Although I think it’s very unlikely harden doesn’t resign with Philly, I think Morey would 1000% trade for harden with no future commitment. Harden is moreys only claim to being a good gm so he’s obsessed with him

Love this trade for the Nets. Adding Bulls-killer Seth Curry too.

Let's get moving AKME...

Saw on nba.com that the bulls don’t plan on making a trade but will be active in the buyout market

The number of teams willing to sign Harden for over $50M a year is close to zero IMO. I assume if Philly did this, they're willing to pay him.

If this is just a short term rental for Philly, agreed it was a bad value for Simmons. But everything points to Morey loving Harden, so I assume it's a plan for his extension as well.

GarPax? Is that you?
