Like I said, if VDN wanted to, he could completely derail 2010 for us by regaling teams and free agents with fun tales about life working with JR, Pax, and Gar. Good job, stooges!

And all the other organizations are pristine out there.

I'd rather have a GM pull my tie instead of the guy in Miami who just fires coaches any time he feels bored with his front office job, and then goes back to take the reins.

Every organization has its tales of questionable stuff. VDN doesnt talk right now because VDN doesnt want to burn bridges with a past employer because he wants to work again.

Did you notice how Scott Skiles and Bill Cartwright left without a peep? Every coach would love to do that if they can. It helps with their future.

That's good. Didn't want him here, so that's one guy out of the way.

no i meant who will be doing the talking? Gar, Pax, or Vinny?

IIRC, when the Mavs fired Avery (last big-time firing I remember well) they gave him a chance to hold a press conference. it'd be nice if VDN got that chance too.

Well he played a majority of his career with the Sixers as a high draft pick, so I guess he still has a soft spot for that franchise.
Why so serious?

The Dark Horse to watch out for is John Calipari . I would not be surprised if we hired him . He Knows Derrick and He has had NBA Experience . Plus he would be not that expensive

You have to be joking?

Does Doug want a heart attack? Geez he has to realize there are more fish in the sea and not just jump at the first offer.

I'm not joking, but it's ESPN. Who knows, maybe they're jumping to conclusions?

I would be stunned if hired Calipari.

Terrible choice, IMO.

I doubt they will hire Calipari. He's making a ton of money at Kentucky.

Kentucky officials told Katz that Calipari will receive an eight-year contract for $31.65 million plus incentives. Kentucky paid Memphis a $200,000 buyout. The exact details of the contract will be revealed at Wednesday's news conference introducing the coach.

The Bulls reportedly are eager to secure a replacement with previous head coaching experience and are expected to focus their search on Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey, fomer Nets coaches Byron Scott and Lawrence Frank, former Mavs coach Avery Johnson and former Bulls coach Doug Collins, who already has interviewed for the Sixers' opening. Broadcaster and former player Mark Jackson, who has drawn interest from the Clippers, Sixers, Hornets and Nets, would seem to be a long shot for the Chicago job given how Del Negro -- a former player with no head coaching experience -- didn't work out.

I can see it now. A Casey / Avery coaching decision and Joe Johnson for the max as your free agent and only major move. The Bulls couldn't piss me off worse if they actually tried.

I'd quit for a year at least. There couldn't be a dumber front office if that happened. I have such little faith that it's possible.

I just want a Vet coach, who has had success over a long period, makes D a priority and would keep us uptempo.
