New revelation that's been known since he was drafted?

I disagree with your ability to evaluate.

That's good. I just don't think there's a trade that makes sense between the Wolves and Bulls. Obviously what the Wolves would want the Bulls wouldn't trade, and what the Bulls would trade, isn't enough for the Wolves.

no thanks to Webster, we need better basketball players than him.

Meh. If he is super cheap, then maybe. Not a SG really, injury prone, average on O, solid D though.

There are far better option, and it is likely that the Bulls can and will pull the trigger.

Hey cool. People who have a different estimation of a player than you do must not know who he even is. :)

For my part I admit that, partly due to Webster's tendency to be injured and partly due to me being a Bulls fan living in Golden State Warriors TV land and not having League Pass, I haven't seen him play more than 15-20 times. My thoughts on him are based on those recollections. Good shooter (not elite), not particularly noteworthy in any other respect. Better than Bogans. Probably a bit more well-rounded than Brewer or Korver, but not by leaps and bounds. That's what I remember seeing.
Can I borrow a feeling?

You again? You've been here before to tell knowledgeable posters that they don't know anything about basketball. It was tiresome then and it's tiresome now.

Not accurate. Rate him higher or lower than I do, I'm fine with that. But to completely miss on his skillset would lead me to believe someone doesn't know who he is.

He's a good perimeter shooter, a good defender, has great size, and is athletic. The knock on him is if he has the ability to put the ball on the floor, which he showed he could do during the preseason before the injury.

Kahn is a huge fan of Webster, I doubt he'd just give him away for peanuts.

He's a decent defender in the right situation for him. That right situation is most often when playing against a decently strong SG/SF who does not rely on quickness to score buckets. Webster has decent length and strength, stays grounded on defense, and you could say he contests shots fairly well as he doesn't over extend and foul shooters. But where Webster suffers defensively is against quick-footed players as Webster lacks sufficient lateral quickness. He's not the worst defender, but he's certainly has noticeable flaws.

And while I said he has decent length and strength, I certainly wouldn't call him very athletic. He is not that great of a leaper and, again, he lacks lateral quickness.

About his ball-handling, it's not like he will dribble it off his foot, but he dribbles fairly high and he puts the ball a little too far out in front of him.

And you're right about Kahn liking him. So while I do believed the Bulls probably inquired (especially considering his agent), I don't think GarPax is willing to meet the asking price.

If the price is JJ/Scal/Bogans, I'm in.

If it's anything more, I'm out.

Pretty fair assesment. Good fundamentals on defense, but staying in front of a Monta Ellis is tough, though it is for most. He can body up most big SG/SF types.

He's a good outside shooter, but in his time with Minnesota thus far he's proving to be more than just a spot up shooter. He's shown great flashes of being able to attack the basket. He's never going to play point guard, and he's not a Kobe/DWade type when handling the ball, but he's not going to embarass himself regularly either.

I think playing with Brandon Roy hindered his ability to develop and to show what he can do.

Care to expand on what his agent has to do with the Bulls? That's one thing I'm not familiar with.

His agent, Arn Tellem, has a pretty lengthy lovefest style history with Bulls ownership. There are some folks around here who suggest that if Tellem is a players agent it at least gets their name in the conversation with Reinsdorf.

That theory seems to be holding true JJ this summer, JR Smith, and now Webster just to name a few. Seems there actually be some connection.

No interest.

The only deal I'd do is James Johnson and Bogans for him. And I doubt that works on Trade Checker.

Maybe they're looking at him as part of a bigger 3 way trade that lands us a SG like Mayo. Where Deng eventually ends up on the Wolves and Mayo & Webster end up on the Bulls. Memphis sending parts (Brewer + player?) to Memphis along with parts (a pick?) we send to Memphis. And then we pick up a pick from Minn.

Giving us Mayo & Webster and salary relief in exchange for Deng and a 1st round pick.
