I can't think of one good reason why the clips would be looking to move ej.

"D-Wade to the Bulls is imminent."

I'm sorry, but I don't put much stock into what Mr. Goff says.

What a joke of a franchise

To be fair, they traded a pick likely to be #10 or so to upgrade from Baron Davis to Mo Williams which is a considerable talent and age upgrade going forward. They ended up getting screwed by that move, but I thought it was a nice trade for them at the time. It just goes to show why you always put protection on the pick.

The Cavs have already said they would not have made the trade if the pick was protected. There was no other reason to trade FOR Baron Davis.

I have no idea why they would even consider doing this unless they are trying to unload Kaman and get a few draft picks (that and because they are the Clippers). Perhaps they think they have a shot at getting Dwight and CP3 / Deron in 2012 free agency. Even by keeping Kaman they only have $12.5 mil committed in salary for 2012/13.

While I love listening to Goff, as he's one of the few guys on the radio that actually talks Bulls with a decent amount of knowledge, he's not a reliable source at all for breaking news. I think everything we're hearing right now from Dwight to Gordon to Rip is all hearsay. It's just people speculating.

Having said that, landing Gordon would be a total coup for this franchise and he'd probably be exactly what we need at the SG spot. Biggest downside would be his size.

Why on Earth would LA want to trade Eric Gordon? Sure he'd be a nice fit here but he's not the type of player you give your entire team up for, Dwight Howard is.

That actually makes me feel worse....

We have a small shot at Howard (at best).....and no shot at EG.

I guess it is the off-season....but I prefer things to stay realistic.

The Clippers couldn't protect the pick because of the Stepien rule.

It's really complicated, but essentially, but essentially since the Clippers could possibly owe their 2012 pick to Boston (via OKC) next year, they couldn't trade their pick this year. Even though they are guaranteed to have Minnesota's 1st round pick this year or next.

The only way to fix it would have been to word the trade so that Cleveland would get Minnesota's pick next year, unprotected, if the Clippers exercised their protection this year. But with next year's draft being better than this year's, then it doesn't make sense to keep this years and move next years.

Here's the link to Larry Coon explaining it.

On the Subject of Eric Gordon, he'd be perfect, imo, but completely unlikely that he comes. Granted, of all the teams to screw up their future, LAC has to be fighting with Minnesota, Cleveland and any team that Isiah Thomas is on as the most likely to do it. But I can't imagine they'll be able to with Blake Griffen.

If Jason Goff spouts the word "Imminent" anywhere in there, you already know...

Anyway, he needs a dick punch.

The way I see it is....for a lot of the other rumors that we've had, LBJ/Wade/Kobe (where the rumors weren't really started my our FO but rather outside sources whether it be the media, or in Kobe's case...him self lol) or ones w/ Garnett/Gasol (Where we were still basically a rebuilding team and thus a little more reluctant in moving pieces) - these rumors are more along the lines of our FO saying "ok, we need to pair DRose w/a superstar to win or we're never going to get passed Miami.

There is a sense of urgency is the feeling I'm getting based on the Locker room and the FO based on what shaaronshabazz reported on.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not really getting my hopes up by any means - but I want my FO to work and try to make the best thing happen. I can't completely blame them for the Garnett and Gasol Incidnet - same w/ the LBJ/Wade/Bosh scenario.

If we hear that we didn't do a trade for Eric Gordon where we have to give up the farm, i'd be ok w/ that. If we hear that we didn't do that for Dwight, that I'd be pissed.

Maybe I'm naive but I do think we're a winning organization - maybe a little conservative, but I'd rather them ber conservative than pull trades that ORL did (w/ Arenas). LA didn't really pull a risky trade for Gasol, Boston didn't even pull a risky trade w/ garnett/ray (they had nothing to lose).

The only "risky" move I saw was w/ the heat and even Pat had to know he was atleast getting two players from wade. I think the Bulls org. has done a good job building a contender w/ what we've got - it's not our fault Memphis wants OJ mayo based on his hgihschool potential or trades gasol for crap after asking for everything from us. It's not our fault LBJ/Wade/Bosh decided to get together before this summer.

Unles of course...yknow - they trade Griffn and Gordon for Boozer and Noah. I wonder they'd bite on the "Hey you could win now w/ these guys instead of in two years! This way you can take over the LA fan base as the LAL suck!!!"

I know right? Jason Goff and Bernstein are the last place I'd go to for NBA rumors. Remember when Bernstein said the Kobe deal was 80% done or something?

They aren't really good sources, but that won't stop them from telling you that they are.

I do find Goff's stuttering mildly amusing, not because stuttering is funny, but because his mouth runs 1.5 times faster than his brain. Switch to decaff dude.

I absolutely refuse to part with Bogans as a part of that deal.

You have to make a stand somewhere or they'll gut your team for 2 all stars.

LOL I know I don't wanna make fun of people's stuttering but it's almost like something he does on purpose. I know a lot of people like Goff but I find him kinda brash and cocky and it just rubs me the wrong way. It's not a great approach. It's one thing to be sure of yourself but don't come off like an a-s-s-h-o-l-e. I think he learns it from Bernstein.
