They probably asked for about 3 future picks and to take back Humphries' bad contract.

That I would believe.

IMO on why the Nets would want Boozer. Going for Joe Johnson over the summer, obviously they are in win now mode. Boozer is clearly better than Kris and Blatche. Them being able to land Boozer with Williams, Johnson, Wallace and Lopez is some 5. Does it let them win it all, who knows but adding Boozer over the two previously mention, gives them a better chance.

Also keep in mind I said "MILD" interest. There's probably other PF's ahead of Boozer on their list but I have a Bulls insider not a Nets insider, so I have no clue.

Thanks as always and hope all is well. :)

I agree it makes sense for the Nets to want to upgrade at PF and makes sense they would do their due diligence.

I think Redick would be a decent fit next to Derrick. Gortat's very interesting, but how are we supposed to get him? With Boozer? That makes no sense to me.

Rip to the Cavs is probably going to happen at the deadline to get us under the tax...as long as some other move with Boozer doesn't happen first.

Maybe a three way with Nets and Jazz to get Al Jefferson? Something like Boozer to nets, kris humphries and picks (cats pic and nets pick) to Utah and al jefferson to Bulls?

im must be sleeping on Al cause im just not that excited about him. Or any of the others players that were mentioned by the op. Im looking at this more in a flexibility way.

just saw that al is an expiring after this season. is that good or bad? and for the people that like his game why is he such an improvement over boozer?

Doesn't make sense for UTA. They have more than enough bigs.

if the al jefferson trade goes through, it will be a rental for a year. his contract expires after this season and i dont see him as a right fit in thibs' defensive system. he will look bad (like boozer) trying to play defense in this scheme.

hes not a longterm solution. just a way to free up cap space for the future.

I'd trade Boozer for Aaron Afflalo; Deng + the Bobcats pick for Al Jefferson; and Rip Hamilton for CJ Miles.

2013 Bulls:
PG - Rose/Robinson
SG - Afflalo/Hinrich/Butler
SF - CJ Miles/Butler/Swingman Free Agent
PF - Al Jefferson/Taj
C - Noah/Taj/Free Agent

Boozer would be the 4th option on that Nets team behind Lopez, Deron, & Joe Johnson. As a 4th option, he'd be extremely efficient especially w/ a great assist man like Williams.

And he only makes $3M a year more than Humph, whom I assume we would have to take back. For $12M a year Humph is giving them 8 points & 8 boards a game. Reggie Evans actually plays meaningful minutes at the 4 spot for them.

If I were the Nets, I'd easily swap Humph for Boozer. Nets would get the better player, and Chicago can continue to penny pinch.

14 games into the season I find it hard to believe people are already 'calling for Belinelli'

i dont know if

dwill
joe johnson
gerald wallace
boozer
lopez

can survive vs the heat.

they will have to improve their bench significantly to compete with the heat in the ECF.
they should try to get anthony morrow or kyle korver from the hawks. maybe get a defensive big to complement lopez and boozer

If their starting 5 is Lopez, Booz, Crash, IsoJoe, and Deron that also improves their bench.

Deron Watson
Joe Marshon
Crash Childress
Booz Evans
Lopez Blatche

Those 10 with Evans and Childress only for emergencies or foul trouble wouldn't be too bad. Not to mention they have other pieces in Tornike, Mirza, and Taylor that may settle into NBA players later in the season.

I think Toronto may have had interest from his previous employment with them.

Al Jefferson is nowhere near worth Deng AND a potential lottery pick.
