IMO, Jurko is equally annoying and the entire show needs a makeover since their focus isn't on sports half the time. They'd rather BS about movies and random stuff than sports. If Harry is gone, get rid of Jurko too. He's a babbling idiot.

Its a shame Laurence Holmes is employed by the Score. He's by FAR my favorite Chicago sports radio host and I'd love to see him get a primetime spot.

The other hope would be for ESPN Chicago to bring back the Silvy and Carmen show. That was a very good show.

I too didn't mind Harry. I thought he was pretty good at his job in fact.

And I agree that Jurko is the annoying one. If the topic of discussion isn't up his alley, he just rambles, purposefully interrupting the conversation with bits that he's not even trying to be funny with, but just instead disrupt the convo he's not interested in. I don't get how that's preferred over a guy who tries to keep things light like Harry.

When Jurko has something of value to add, he's very good at what he does. But when he doesn't care, he tries to ruin it for everyone.

As for Harry, he fellow co-hosts disliked him (Jurko couldn't stand him) and so did the listeners.

Waiting on him to be fired. Notice how all the other ESPN local NBA writers always post great insightful articles & then Friedell posts something dumb like saying the Bulls are losing hope in playing(an article he seemed to have deleted).

He's useless.

Didn't Dan McNeil beat up Teinowitz or at least threaten to? If both Yorko and McNeil had problems with him, then I'm inclined to believe the problem lies somewhere with Harry.

Probably does, but McNeil is a prick too. They got into it years back when McNeil was with ESPN. Harry just seems incoherent every time I listen to him.

Anyways, ESPN 1000 is garbage aside from Waddle and Silvy. Carmen and co are just bad, most of the show is spent with them babbling on about stuff unrelated to any sports. B&B might be dickwads, but you can get a laugh or 2 out of it, and they do spend a lot of time discussing sports.

I haven't listened to Chicago Sportstalk Radio much, if at all, since 2007. Hard to believe most of the names have remained the same. Maybe I didn't miss much.

Was there anything better than caller Anne?

Too bad for Harry. He has been on Chicago radio forever. He used to be on Johnny B with Peggy kazinski back in the day.
No big loss though. I could see Silvy going to Carmen and jurko. Carm and Silvy have been buds and were the young team several years back.

Silvia is the most knowledgeable Bulls host and Waddle is great.

any specific reason why he was let go?

I liked him, but I am an old man, so that may be why. Jurko, TO ME, was the weak link. Not a great show all around but I listen.

Silvy is great. He does the pencil neck geek side of the geek and the jock schtick really well. And he does know his stuff and works hard at his job.

Not a huge loss. I thought the loss of Dan McNeil would've been in the end of that show. It'll keep chugging along with a new third person. Not like it matters though, Boers and Bernstein is where it's at.

One thing about ESPN 1000 is they atleast talk about Bulls/basketball. The score guys act as if they are in St.Louis or Kansas where they don't have a basketball team. Even if they talk, it's mostly when there is big news like Reggie Rose's comments or just talk very superficially like the Bulls need another star. I guess there is no appetite for basketball with their listeners or they are analyzing their ratings the wrong way.

The two big stars on the Bulls history is amazing...one is probably the most famous athlete in the world and the other one is a local kid who is becoming an international star. But both sports stations want to talk about a team like the White Sox most of the time who can't even fill their stadium.

I would love to see one of these stations employ a smart ex-NBA player as one of the hosts. Somebody who just doesn't tell stories but also can analyze the games would be nice.

I mostly listen to Waddle and Silly myself. I think those two are great.

And I listen to carmen, yurko, and harry once in a while.

Don't really like anyone on the score. The guy at night is okay.

I wonder if he did or said something to get fired?

Waddle and silvy and the afternoon saloon are good shows on espn1000. But just like everyone else, I can't stand friedell who to me is captain obvious on everything he reports. I mean at least Bruce Levine who is friedell's cubs counterpart breaks news and doesn't give us tidbits of stuff we already know. But the one dude I can't stand is Jonathan Hood, dude acts like he's one of the top radio guys in Chicago, he's never wrong according to him and he bashes listeners if they don't agree with him.

Which guy is the one who would always interupt anything and everything if a group of delicious Chicago babes walked outside the studio? That guy seemed to always be the one just looking for chicks outside rather than talking about sports, but I always thought it was hilarious and added something to the show. If it was Harry, then I'll miss him.

That's usually Jurko but they all got into it a few times and it was good for a few laughs

AM 1530. The only reason I know that is because my friend owns that station but I despise mancow.

I liked Camen and Silvy but the afternoon saloon was not good after Mac was fired. I like Mac And Spiegel the most.

I think Silvy, Carmen and Waddle from ESPN are good and Laurence Holmes from 670AM is good as well. Both Carmen and Silvy have bright futures and are just normal sports fans. Silvy's a Bulls guy and Carm's a Hawks guy. Both seem down to earth but are knowledgable.

And I've liked Waddle since 1990 when he got knocked senseless at Soldier Field. Harry was just too damn annoying.

Yeah, The Score got a lot better after they jettisoned North and Murphy. Couldn't stand either of them.

Agree with those that say 'LAW HOME!!!!!' is the ****. He's got the best combo of being knowledgeable and easy to listen to.

Tiny, to me, was annoying and reminded me of guys like North or Murph who come from a different era and just talk about the most dated and asinine stuff. The fact that they were getting their butts handed to them by Boehrs and Bernstein should tell you something.

Waddle and Silvy are good too. I may actually like them more than Mac and Spiegs, although I do consider myself more of a Score guy.
