Re: NBA Finals Thread - I Need A Miracle
Miami doesn't have the pieces for a great trade. The only guy they have is Bosh and they need to exchange for another great big man. There is no team which has two good two big men. They need a rim protector kind of guy along with somebody who provides offense. Those guys like Hibbert are not getting traded for Bosh. Nobody is giving anything in trade for Wade or the other old crap they have. And, LeBron is not going anywhere.

I've never seen anything as manic as the highs and lows out on the River Walk last week.
I am disgusted by this whole series.
I've got Miami winning tonight. The business of the NBA cannot countenance anything less.

danny crawford AND scott foster? that's very interesting to say the least... i'm guessing crawford is the head official?
this game is all up to how manu and the spurs roleplayers play. if manu can put up a decent game of like 12-15 points with very low turnovers, green/kawhi/neal can put up good numbers, the spurs will do well. when they have lost, the aforementioned players almost all played badly except one. if they are all clicking or at least 3/4, the spurs wont lose. as for miami, they are basically the same thing every night. their "big 3" put up the same output and you sometimes see something from chalmers. gay allen, miller and battier seem to alternate in scoring (not so much battier), but you seem to see a constant output of 3s from the team.
it's going to be up to the spurs to play well and take this tonight. i don't see the cryami cheat choking by any means

Anticipate the worst, hope for the best.
I wonder how big of a lead will it take for the Spurs to get in this game in order for the 'fans' to leave the arena like it's 5 minutes away from being condemned by public health officials.

He picked Dallas over Miami as well and Dallas won.
Also Stephen A Smith picked the Spurs in 7 as well.

7. Who wins Game 7?
Abbott: In history, usually the home team. Here's why: Home court in every NBA game is worth about three points per game. A lot of playoff series are lopsided enough that three points won't decide it. Game 7s, though, by definition, feature evenly matched teams. In a contest like that, those three points become an imperfect, but interesting, predictor.
Adande: The Heat. Normally I give home teams an 80 percent chance of winning playoff Game 7s, based on the historical record. In this case, San Antonio's experience brings Miami's edge down to 60 percent. Still, home-court advantage could turn out to be the slightest of benefits for the Heat, which would turn this into a referendum on the importance of the regular season, something Miami cared about much more than San Antonio.
Christensen: Heat. A visiting team hasn't won an NBA Finals Game 7 since 1978. Tuesday's loss was a devastating defeat for the Spurs, which they will not soon forget.
Gordian: The San Antonio Spurs. While no one really has any idea, I imagine most people will pick the Heat. But LeBron, Wade, Bosh and their teammates will likely play for titles again. This is the last chance for several players on the Spurs, and I believe that will give them an unexpected emotional and mental edge.
Haberstroh: Heat. I picked Heat in 7 from the beginning and I'll stick to it because it'll make me look like I can see the future. And that's always a cool feeling, even if it's illusory.
Stein: San Antonio. Just have a feeling that the Spurs, because you are not supposed to be able to recover from a defeat as crushing as Game 6 was, will do just that and win Game 7. It would be a fitting capsule to sum up a series that has consistently defied logic.
Wallace: Heat. After dodging a huge bullet in Game 6, if such a thing as destiny exists it probably resides with Miami right now. I pick the Heat because of home-court advantage, too. But if any team in the league is built to have one big game on the road and coldheartedly snatch away a title, it's the Spurs.

Well, Danny Crawford should be able to maintain order. Scott Foster is worrisome though.
(And yeah, the underlying problem the NBA has that people are keyed into ref assignments)
I made a post and mentioned that Spurs were in trouble even up 3-2 because Joe Crawford was going to ref game 6 and then Scott Foster game 7.
But just so you know, when Dallas won, Scott Foster was the ref in game 6.

Spurs had their chance to save the world from dealing with 3 stooges winning back to back ships - they choked it away. Still can't believe they blew it.
14 years is a nice run but it's time to end the Paxson era.
