If melo lands with the bulls I know everybody is going to be tempted to get a 2 guard that is a 3pt speacialist or a shooter. But you do not want Melo guarding the best player every night, becuase that would cause him to be less effective from the field and that also can get him in foul trouble. That's why it is critical that we have a wing defender next to Melo so he can stay fresh on the offensive end and wont tire out. People who never played competitive basketball don't understand how hard it is to play at a high level and give max effort on both ends of the floor. If Melo is guarding the best player every night you are going to see people gripe about Melo being ineffiecient like Deng and Butler.

Looks like Bulls management did what they've suppose to do. Even DRose showed up. Keep my fingers crossed, however I believe Melo's wife would have huge influence on his decission. Can we do a pitch for LaLa ?

He said last season that the Big 3 made a smart decision in what they did to win. I believe he takes the Lebron route, and wins.

Let's ride it high, because I feel like we all have the tendency to freak out at any positive news from any other ball club. There's gonna be at least SOME amount of positivity from LA, Houston, and Dallas, but it seems like we knocked one out of the park today. Hope we win this crazy game.

The Bulls as an organization get an A+++ for today. They really hit it out of the park. They seemed like were prepared for this, for a while. No way, they're pulling this together in less than a day. Which makes all the rumors of "backchannel" talks legitimate. The ball is now in Melo's court.

Also, the Bulls just set the standard for making a pitch. Dallas, Houston, LA and NY will have a tough time getting even close to this. The Bulls getting a shot at Melo first really benefitted them.

Don't think its guaranteed.

Just they probably gave Melo a platter of options, and among the option that involves the most money we can pay, it would mean trading Jimmy.

Once Melo commits here, to whatever the final money line is, the Bulls can get to work pursuing a S&T with NY, where they are likely to engage, and we probably won't have to trade the worst case scenario of assets.
