Re: #5. Where there is Love there is life
Mirotic bought out his contract with Real Madrid of the Spanish League only after the Bulls committed to keeping him in Chicago, according to a source familiar with negotiations. It's one thing to trade a savvy NBA veteran like Gibson after reassuring him to "buy, not lease,'' as general manager Gar Forman has advised, but another to mislead a 23-year-old rookie who uprooted his wife and young son to cross an ocean and become a Bull.
Smart business move or not, dealing Mirotic after earning his trust over three years would be contrary to everything Reinsdorf wants his organizations to represent and a departure from how the Bulls typically operate. It would be bold but borderline betrayal. It might lead to more victories but overall result in the loss of respect, and the Bulls traditionally care about both.
Perhaps that explains why, as of Thursday, Mirotic and his representatives remained under the impression the 6-foot-10 forward was not part of any "significant offer'' the Bulls made for Love.

I sense nothing's really going on for us in this thing.

Maybe my judgement IS impaired. I think I may be suffering from the-Bulls-still-don't-have-a-wing-shot-creator-and-Niko-is-gonna-get-10-mins-a-game fever. I'm going to bed.
Well, they would be right about Taj being the best defensive PF in the game. I think he is. He can score pretty good these days too. probably the team's 2nd best creator of his own shots on the team last year in a role he wasn't familiar with. Not often your "defensive specialist" gets fed the ball in the low post and the coach just yells "go to work Taj!".. and he was pretty efficient down there and once he got his shot going again he was good from a lot of spots.
the other aspect that doesn't get brought up on this three way is we have Taj for three more years. Martin and Waiters are both on contract years, Thompson will looking to get paid next year as well.. We lose Taj for crap that isn't even likely here in two years. Bad move.

"Kevin is Love, Kevin is life" would be good too if you're rooting for Love coming here.
I personally don't because I don't want our deep team to consist of a player who we don't know if he'll be staying the next years.

I just think we are trying to get Cavs to gut their team. No way we have offered Mc3 and Niko.

I want a two-way trade:
Chicago and Minnesota.
I would rather do the three team deal and get a more balanced team with depth at every single position. If we could get Thompson, Martin and Waiters for just Gibson and Dunleavy I would do it in a heartbeat.
C: Noah, Gasol, Bairstow
PF: Gasol, Thompson, Mirotic
SF: Butler, McDermott, Mirotic
SG: Martin, Waiters, Snell
PG: Rose, Hinrich, Brooks
That to me looks like a well balanced team that would not only be the favorites in the east but the favorites to win it all. That team to me looks scary because our second unit would destroy every other teams second unit anytime.

So if Taj is staying, for three more years, and we just signed Gasol for three years, where does that leave Mirotic, who we also just signed for three years?

The money and contracts is not getting talked about. It's a big issue too. IMO we can get more at the deadline for Taj.
