Already more posts in this game thread than what we were getting towards the end of last season!

Looking forward to hopefully being able to root for this team. The last few years have been brutal and my viewership of the games has dropped every year. I think I took in about a dozen games last season. I simply stopped caring.

Play hard and play to win. Then if they win or lose - at least they gave effort and tried. That I can get behind.

I know its preseason, and I know I am over reacting but why TF is Felicio starting?

What benefit is there to putting this bum out there when we could put a real player?

You would never know we had a young Center who was a top ten pick and has showed a lot of potential. Why not give him first team reps?

I don't want to watch Felicio as much as anyone, but I think the point is that they want Coby and Gafford to get experience off-the-bench paired with Thad.

I am more bothered by Dunn starting.

yeah i think we've done a thing before where we've plugged deep bench players into the starting lineup to keep other players in their normal rotational spot

WCJ is hurt (bruised tailbone) and will not be playing. And Kornet is out with turf toe.

But I agree with you - anyone is preferable to Felicio. Thad, Lauri or Gafford come to mind.

Thanks.

Saw this quote from Boylen in KC's article on tonight's game. Seems like an appropriate standard, but one that Dunn can satisfy only if he completely changes his approach to the game of basketball.

What is Boylen looking for from Dunn on Monday?

"I want to see him play efficient basketball," Boylen said. "I want to see his decisions be solid. I want him to be the most dominant defensive player on the floor. And I want him to accept coaching, which he’s been great at. And I want that to keep going."

Boylen also wants to Dunn to play with confidence when he doesn't have the ball.

"I’d like him to 'point-five it,' which is shoot it, drive it or pass it in point-5 seconds," Boylen said. "I do not want the ball to stick."

Let's not be so hasty, maybe Felicio has had a great offseason, and is now a somewhat useful...

No, I can't do this. He hasn't, and he isn't. It's preseason, but still, to start Felicio is slap to the face with a wet kitchen towel.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

I want to see the Bulls starters compete and try to beat the Bucks starters for the mins they play against each other, and there is no way that happens with Dunn and Felico in the lineup.

I got to say I am very disappointed in the lineup tonight. Dunn is simply not a great fit in the starting lineup, he has continually failed when playing with Lavine and Lauri. He has done his best work with Lavine out of the lineup.

I think the team needs to focus on a Dunn/White bench backcourt rather then watching Dunn fail again with our best players and wasting valuable preseason development minutes. A bench of Dunn/White/Valentine/Young/Gafford or Kornet, can be a nice uptempo unit that should be able to keep up with most bench units and not lose the lead.

I am also very concerned about starting Felico at center as well. It's unfortunate that Carter is literally butt hurt but they are way better ways to handle it. One way would be lineup of Sato/Lavine/Porter/Young/Lauri, this matches up quite well with the Bucks and at the same time builds needed chemistry with a lineup that should be used during the season. Another option would be putting in Gafford and seeing how he does with the starters. Does he set solid picks? Can he work a pick n roll well with Lavine, Can he rotate well in our scheme, these would all be good things to see when he is playing with better players.

I want to see the Bulls play good lineup matchups and build chemistry while games dont count and it seems like a shame the Bulls rather force something that is not there instead.

Nothing says “it’s only preseason” like starting Felicio. Talk about a buzzkill.

Damn it Boylen. He couldn't have just started Thad (to guard Giannis) and slid Lauri to the 5? I'm even alright starting Dunn if we did that.

I understand there are new players on the roster and so there are lineups we need to try. But Dunn and Felicio? That ain't it man. Try again. I'd much prefer Boylen pull his inner Thibs here and try to win every game - preseason or otherwise.
