Bulls Uniform Fit: A, looks like a natural just like Crazy Eyes Bobby.

It's going to be tough to fill Gafford's shoes as my favorite 2nd rounder, but Ayo can do it.

I find it encouraging when a prospect is smart in interviews, especially confident, works hard, has improved his game annually, and is a great athlete.

I give this an A, though I was in the Cooper kiwi boat as well.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

Well, to be honest. It makes it hard for me to grade a second round pick at all. I expect absolutely nothing but I'm open for many surprises.

too bad we did not buy or trade into the 2nd round for an extra pick.

It would have been nice to get Ayayi, Jared Butler, or Cooper. Cooper for pt guard, and Ayo for 3rd shooting guard. or Butler to play both positions as well, making Sato expendable. Very shocked, with all the good players available we did not gain an extra pick.

A. Ayo is a player who is good at a lot of things, but not great at anything. This makes him useful right away while he works at his game. By all accounts, he's a hard worker and that gives him an upside. If your 2nd-rounder makes your team, that's a win. I think he'll do this.

The 2020 NBA Draft was yesterday but it’s never too early to start looking ahead to next year. CBS Sports unveiled its mock draft for 2021 and Illinois guard Ayo Dosunmu is forecasted as a lottery pick.

CBS Sports has Dosunmu going 12th to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dosunmu enters this season as a Preseason AP All-American, Preseason CBS Sports First-Team All-American, Unanimous Preseason All-Big Ten Team member and is on the Bob Cousy Award Watch List.

Many thought Dosunmu would declare for the 2020 draft after a strong sophomore season in which he averaged 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. Dosunmu was selected First-team All-B1G by the media and AP

“It was somewhat surprising when Ayo Dosunmu, a possible first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, decided to return to Illinois for his junior season,” CBS Sports columnist Gary Parrish said. “Assuming he turns the Illini into a Final Four contender, and makes jumpers consistently, it’s a decision that should pay off.”

Yeah, I'll give that an A. IMO, the NBA is too hard on players who actually play in college. This last season was a train wreck due to covid and I think Dosunmu was unfairly de-rated because of it.

I agree.

My 1st reaction was that it's just simply not possible to grade the pick of one player in the 2nd round.

Typically, we see grading the whole draft, or grading the off season. So the this idea is new to me.

That said, I'd like to fall back to grading the draft pick + free agents that the Bulls have picked up so far...

- Ayo Dosunmu
- Troy Baxter
- Ethan Thompson

...IMO we could also throw in...

- Marko Simonovic

...into the overall consideration (even though he was actually drafted last year)...

And when looking at it from that perspective, I believe that the Bulls grade out pretty well.

So, I choose "B", mainly because there is no 1st-round pick to consider.

Bulls likely losing 3 maybe 4 wings this offseason so can see Ayo playing quite a bit. Think they'll treat him as a first rounder they are trying to develop rather than a 2nd rounder that might ride the bench.

I would have drafted Cooper, no doubt. But Ayo is still an awesome pick at 38.

Ayo is good value for where he was drafted but Cooper would have been great value for being drafted 38. In my opinion passing on Cooper to draft Ayo moves this down to a B. If Cooper isn’t there then this is an A. Also a lot depends on what the Bulls do in FA. If they sign Ball then I think Ayo is a better fit for this team than Cooper. I think it is best to grade this pick after FA is complete.
