Derozan played pretty damn good defense this year for Pop and averaged 7ast. He completely bought in to whatever Pop was telling him. The roster is trash and they really shouldn’t have been that competitive in the West but they were.

This would be an underrated signing if we could get him for under 80mil

Coby probably would have to be included.

I like him but I’d drive him to the airport to get DD.

That would be pretty good start to building a winning team..

Add Rose at the MLE. 10M.

Still can resign Theis.

Still have 4M BAE.

Is this doable financially? Both Ball and Derozan? Havent been this excited in an offseason since like 2014

I think I read elsewhere that DeRozan is a contingency if they can't get Ball.

What I like about Derozan is his FT rate. That would be a big help for us. He also is a 7ast to 2 turnover player.

He def pushes PW to PF and gives plenty of time for PW to develop and forces to him earn his role and mins. I always prefer that to a young guy just being given everything.

I mean, Lauri is involved in both deals. AK is probably engineering an expanded deal with 6 teams though.

Getting Derozen would be great but you’re right only negative would be it would kind of screw up P Will and his development. At the same time though he would have a lot of open shots available

What an offseason if akme can pull off getting ball and derozan. Even if it doesn't work out that way, at least akme aren't sitting on their hands waiting for players to fall through the cracks like garpax.

For those wondering, Eversley is the DeRozan connection.

Marc Eversley was one of the reasons why Toronto drafted DD.

Exactly you have to be active. Gar/Pax were so afraid to make moves. AK got balls, already proved it with the Vucevic trade.

Would it? He hardly looked like a guy ready to expand beyond his 15% usage. I think practicing alongside DeRozan would be great for his development. Didn't seem to stop Keldon and Dejounte from developing.

I agree. Make the young guy earn it.

Can a roster of Ball, Lavine, DeRozan, PWill, Vucevic, Theis, Coby, Thad, TBJ, Ayo compete for a title? This is assuming you get Ball and Derozan in S/T.
