I could see Matas being on that team.

With a big, star-hungry market behind him and the 'local kid' story there's zero chance a 20 ppg Matas doesn't get the fan votes to be on the real team.

Shouldn't be underestimated just how badly Chicago wants somebody talented to cheer for. Every big league team has been in absolute purgatory since COVID.

Giddey probably makes the team over him, and with how much talent is in the league, I have a hard time seeing us with 2 all-stars.

All rookie teams and ROY seem to have little predictability and are heavily correlated to minutes played. Honestly, I prefer that Matas goes into the offseason with a chip on his shoulder. He's exceed my expectations, but because he seems to have a very high ceiling, it's gonna take a lot more work to get his game up to that level. I know there's been a lot of rhetoric about his hunger, but I remember Tyrus talking similarly. Talk is talk. Spend the summer with Coby.

I voted for marginal All-Star. In this league, even players averaging 19ppg, 14rpg, 6apg on 59/40/75 shooting splits don't become All-Stars. So it's hard to expect Matas being a steady/perennial All-Star.

He was talking trash to Cooper Flagg last summer & playing him pretty well. He wants to be the best. Will he get there who knows.

I believe in Matas to become best player he can be. Whatever that is I am almost certain he is gonna be impactful player in NBA and likely player worth resiging without question. He shown nothing but improvement, willingess to be coached, willingness to learn and adapt. All qualites you want in young player. There is a motor, energy and tools to get better. He is simply guy who looks ready already taking next step in his game.

He might need offseason to actually do that. But he knows already what it takes. I hope he has good play in performance. Because usually great players step up in those opportunities.
