Works. Its then about the picks.

Throw in a low 1st rounder I'd be fine with that.

Bulls Trade:
Jalen Smith
Lonzo Ball
Patrick Williams
45th Pick

Bulls Receive:
29th Pick (via PHX)
38th Pick (via SAS)
Jeremy Sochan
Harrison Barnes
Malaki Branham
Blake Wesley

Big nope from me, Jalen Smith is the last person we should be trading unless a better center is coming back.

we do have some contracts that would be very valuable to facilitate trades...I could see it...I just hope we end up with some picks from any deal

Yeah the google search results for him are not very flattering.

He did post that Fox to the Spurs was close to finalized on 1/31 though. :dontknow:

My trade option if we get involved :

Spurs :
Durant
2025 #45 pick

Phoenix :
2025 #14 pick
2026 pick swap
Vucevic, L.Ball, Sochan, Wesley

Bulls :
Barnes 19M expiring
Richards 5M expiring
2025 #29 pick
2025 #38 pick

I'm not surprised that some think that Vuc's $21M might help swing a max player trade, that's why I said it before. I doubt either SAS or PHO wants to add more CHI players to the deal, but Carter would be the lost likely.

I still don't see the Bulls moving Lonzo, his $10M ends up being filler and I don't see why they signed him for so little and he accepted except to stay, not to turn himself into a throw in piece. Ayo is the guy a team actually building should be looking for, if he meshes with the young guys he's worth bringing back without the Lonzo injury risks

I don't see enough value in those picks to include Ball, who I think will be way better than those picks will ever be. If it's Carter, Terry instead, I'm fine.

Obviously comes down to the picks, but $wise we could do

Spurs OUT: Barnes, Branahan, Wesley, Vassell IN: KD
Suns OUT: KD IN: Vuc, Terry, Vassell
Bulls OUT: Vuc, Terry IN: Barnes, Branahan, Wesley

I'd be rid of those 2 for nothing, but if we could nab a future lotto protected 1st, count me all in. I'd even throw-in #45.

This trade has a lot of realism to it. Vassell contributes on both ends and adds to the future core. C'mon AKME, DO IT! Vuce and Carter cannot thrive here. Our new youth movement style of playing at such a fast pace is a detriment to Vuce. Doesn't jive at all. Carter, who I was hyped about when we first signed him, has regressed in our system and been buried on the bench. Cringe.

I didnt include Vassell in trades, because I dont see a need for him at Suns, while Booker and Beal are there. Suns need PG and center

Vassell is a young core-type talent. Beal is old. A KD swap for anyone would be lopsided, with the team trading KD on the losing end in terms of basketball talent 9 out of 10 times. But if the swap is KD for only Vuce (a has been) and Sochan (a never was), the Suns may feel like they're getting hosed.

Fool me once, fool me sixteen times, but i’m not falling for it the seventeenth time!
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

It’s wild that Caruso got us a core piece in Giddy but Lonzo who arguably is the better and younger overall player is essentially a throwaway piece at this point in his career. I wonder how much one good, healthy season would bump Lonzo’s trade value.

It's a good point. I think there is just a high degree of skepticism that Ball ever plays enough games to prove his value, but at the same time, I'd love to keep him. I think he had a big positive impact on guys like Giddey and Matas in terms of defensive effort and awareness.

Man, I would love to send Vuc to the Suns (who need a center) and swap in Barnes.
Hell, move Barnes somewhere else (Miami maybe) for DRobinson and the #20 (we add the #45 and another future 2nd)

Even if it was adding Barnes, that'd be great. We save a bit of $, and improve our defense a ton. Collins/Smith/Rookie is enough at center for a year, and moving Vuc opens up more shots for Matas
