What a weird idea. What the hell are they going to do when the number of all stars from usa and world isn't a nice 16/8 split?

Making All-Star selections at least partially based on country of origin seems potentially problematic. I mean, do they still have performance incentives in contracts based on making the All-Star team? If so, wouldn't that make one's paycheck (at least partially) based on where they were born? Is that really the route the NBA wants to go?

Who is this for? They've reached the point where there are too many gimmicks.

There's never going to be incentive for today's players to try hard in these games unless significant money is on the line. And that's not going to happen.

The ASG has never been one of the best and most memorable games of the year even back when players actually competed. So just keep it simple and bring back the traditional pickup game. It's not great basketball, but that's okay.

I'm not blaming them for trying new bad ideas because the old game wasn't good, but I agree, all of the bad and silly ideas to me have been dumber and less entertaining than original effort.

I award them zero points and may God have mercy on their souls.
