Its good to hear, I just wish we would at least try this now.

It'll be interesting to see when exactly Paxson decides to call the season a wash, how late will he leave it? That's assuming things don't get noticeably better.

Don't be surprised if things look better or just as good with the youngsters, it will just be too late for it to count for or mean anything.

Yeah, the fact that they've decided that we can't turn to the youngsters until we're out of contention seems to be the Catch-22 here, at least for those of us who believe they will help us win more games.

It can't hurt. It should be pretty f'ing clear by now that our current plan of action is going to result in a 6th seed at best.

Which is why Cliff Levingston is amused when people say "You can't win and play the young guys big minutes" We can't win anyway, so what the hell?

I've stated this before.

for Boylan to make the mark he wants, he needs to show the ability to integrate and get good minutes out of the young players while having the team play better near the end of the year. I don't see the record as being all that big a deal in evaluating him.

Since Boylan should do what is best for himself, I hope he takes this to heart at some point and actually starts playing the young guys big minutes and let the chips fall where they may at that point.

You got that right. I happened to have "America - f*** yeah" playing in the background while reading your post. Nothing today can top this, it's all downhill from here.

Call me crazy but we would've won the Knicks game had Gray and Noah in the game in the fourth. I think we'd end up winning about the same amount of games either with the youth movement or with the dried up old vets.

Except for his fouling rate Noah's defense is just as good as Wallace's (if not better) and his offense is light years ahead of Big Ben's. I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you

Spot on...we probably wouldn't be in this predicament if that had happened earlier.

I hope we jettison Wallace ASAP.

Or, we can just do this:

c - noah/gray
pf - smith/thomas
sf - deng/nocioni
sg - gordon/thabo
pg - hinrich/DuckIII
murder - wallace/duhon

Actually, KC's recent article provides a Paxson quote from December 27th - the day Boylan was named interim head coach - which shows that this has been Pax's view of it all along, not just as of Tuesday.

Awesome, hopefully we can trade Wallace and Noce or Hinrich or even Deng and add a real 1st option to this team and have Gordon own any team silly enough to slack on him to defend who ever it is we pick up.

I'd be shocked to see any significant change in court time minutes before the All-Star break. As crappy as the East is, the Bulls will never be a long way out of the playoff race.

Hopefully Pax will have enough vision to realize that playing the youth is more important than a 6th, 7th or 8th seed. Or he'll actually realize that some of the youth can play as well as some of the current vets.

Look out Celtics. I might be a 20 lbs overweight, 34 year old with poor conditioning, an alcohol problem, and a penchant for smoking Marlboro lights, but I can waive a towel with the best of 'em.

And if any opposing player or coach tries to step to me with invalid assertions regarding individual vs. derivative standing and consequential subject matter jurisdiction in the context of intra-corporate litigation involving denial of voting rights or entrenchment, I'll put them on the short bus and take them to school.

Here is the Paxson quote from K.C.'s article. It substantiates what doug heard recently on the radio and, somewhat importantly, shows that what we've seen happening with regard to rotations and what we will see happen if the Bulls don't turn it around quick has been Paxson's plan all along. This dispells the belief that Boylan has been rejecting Paxson's wishes:

One doesn't need to search the archives for long to know that if victories don't start coming in bunches soon, development minutes will. Here's general manager John Paxson from Dec. 27:

"If things don't start to turn around to where we play better and win more games, of course there's going to come a time where I'm going to have to see our young guys on the floor for significant minutes. I'm certainly not putting that on Jim now. That wouldn't be fair to him. I want him to go about this trying to do what he thinks is right in terms of tightening up our rotation and finding combinations on the floor that help us win games. We're still trying to do that."

Like a few of us have already said:

Gray / Noah
Tyrus / Smith
Deng / Nocioni
BG / Thabo
Kirk / Duhon

will probabaly get us back into playoff contention. Infact that backcourt is inferior to the frontcourt.

Which brings us to the perennial search for an SG (or a playmaking PG) in return for Wallace, BG/Kirk (depending on who we get back) and probably Nocioni.
For love, not money.
