That's the good question. And one, of course, we'll never know the answer to.

At least the LeBron to Chicago articles have had sources. WWW, an NBA executive who might be Rod Thorn.

Hold the horses. I'm not saying it is a fact. I'm saying that SAS is saying that it is a fact.

Nah. I figure, if enough people report enough outcomes from their sources/scouts, then someone is bound to be right.

And he hinted about it all day yesterday and told people on Twitter to wake up at 6 AM to hear him announce the news. I think he's self promoting some, but the idea isn't completely out there. Just unlikely considering the Heat don't have the cap to do it.

I still stand by the idea, that LeBron has had his mind made up for months now and the media and sources have tried to sway it one way or the other. What his mind is made up to? Who knows. But I doubt he's saying one day: CHICAGO!, the next: MIAMI! He's had 2 months to decide. Thursday is coming up.

So LeBron is going to team with two other top 10 players in order to win a championship? Even if that Miami team wins 8 championships, how will history look back on those 'ships? Conspiring to form a super-team would mean completely trashing your potential legend status, and I highly doubt LeBron wants to do that.

You cannot say the same thing about Jordan--sure, Pippen was a tip 10 player during his prime, but we essentially drafted him; he grew into that great player as a Bull.

Hell, Kobe has even won 2 championships with Gasol, an injured Bynum, decent 3s and horrible point guards.

This whole super-team with Wade, LBJ and Bosh would be a cop-out and an admission by all three that they are all a bunch of divas looking for EASY rings--but those rings, I think, would all have astericks by them b/c of collusion. This isn't happening, and if it does, Miami will become my most hated team and those three players will be my most hated players. I'll root for D-Rose and Jo to massacre that "team" harder than I've ever rooted for them before.

Fair enough. Sorry. I just think it's more complicated than it being Smith either having a fact or an opinion/lie. There is room for gray area, especially with this Smith.

He seems to hate Lebron badly and it seems he does not want Lebron. Why anyone does not want the best player in bball is beyond me.

To me, the situation is analogous to newscasters trying to call a certain state based on exit poll results. SAS is trying to "call" the LeBron story earlier than everybody else. If he is right, he'll bray to the skies that he was there first, but I think he's gotten himself way ahead of the story. The fact he doesn't understand how the cap works makes me doubt where he was getting his information.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't put it past him to have taken all the various bits of info he got this weekend "NY's out," "Miami's trying to move Beasley," etc, compiled them, and come to his own conclusion, i.e., "Miami is it," rather than being told by specific sources "Miami is it." His erroneous cap scenarios reek of such speculation.

if you want to use stats Kobe had 15 big rebounds that hepled the Lakers win

Kobe choked in game 7 artest bailed him out. Kobe was outplayed by Gasol in games 1 and 2. Bynum outplayed Kobe in game 2 as well.

Kobe went 8 for 20 in game 3 including 1-5 in the 4th quarter. Fisher bailed him out with clutch 4th quarter shooting.

Kobe had TERRIBLE 4th quarter stats in that series despite the fact he did not face the coverage Lebron did.

Kobe did not even shoot 50% in one game in that 7 games series. Overall he shot his terrible chucker percentage once again and had yet another subpar finals performance. The guy is not even close to the greatest Laker ever. Shaq was even 10 times better than coat tail riding Kobe.

You could make the same case for Chicago too... Granted Rose isn't on Wade's level but who is to say that he won't be in the future? If any of the FA make a super team in Chicago, Miami, NY (), then it would sort of look like what you are describing. If Bosh and Bron come to Chicago, will you care how we won Championships #7 - infinity?

Why because I am not a Lebron nuthugger like everyone here? I didn't know that I had to like LeChoke to be a Bulls fan.

Not only did Kobe choke in game 7 this year but he choked in game 7 last year vs Houston. Also in game 6 of the 08 finals he choked 7-22 shooting 15 points 3 rebounds 1 assist
why do you ignore that game?

Plenty of us havent liked Lebron in the past. Doesn't matter, you root for the jersey. And he's really really good for the jersey.

I'm pretty sure Stephen A. Smith isn't the most credible source but I definitely wouldn't say that he couldn't be right and that Lebron couldn't be headed there. However, Lebron obviously knows where he has the best chance of winning a championship, and if everyone else knows that Chicago's the place to go for that, then I'm sure he does, too. So far though, there are way too many reports saying that he's going to the Bulls to have what Stephen A. Smith reports as being the most likely to occur.
