It would make no sense to not wait until the last minute to decide if you're trading Dunleavy or not.

I agree

Houston: "Bulls, we'll give you two expirings and a 2nd rounder"

Bulls: "No thanks"

One min before deadline...

Houston: "Bulls, we'll give you two expirings and a 1st rounder"

Bulls: "Deal"

Hinrich has generated the most interest, according to league sources. In the last year of his deal, several contenders, including Golden State, have inquired. However rival executives believe that with Chicago in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race the Bulls are unlikely to deal Hinrich, if for no other reason than the further gutting of the roster could deepen the divide between head coach Tom Thibodeau and the front office.

This is in the Dunleavy trade thread to show the mentality of the FO. They are not moving anyone that makes the team worse for this playoff run.

I'm firmly convinced that this FO would much rather be seen always grinding, overachieving, and not quite making it all the way that actually taking a chance and potentially whiffing on it. No stones.

People probably scared about their job security. Managers getting the axe quite easily for screw ups these days.

First name Nate, last name Robinson.

The guy recovering from ACL surgery that plays a different position?

Yes because I'm sure the exact same scenario under the same circumstances would unfold on a completely different team, under a completely different schedule.

I honestly see no point in trading Dunleavy unless they get a 1st in return. 2nd round picks are worthless and he's actually a nice contract and rotation guy for next season. If they needed to free up money, they could easily dump his contract on someone in the offseason.

I also don't think anyone is going to give up a 1st for him but if I'm GarPax, that'd be my stance and if someone wants to pony up they can have him.
