The thought of landing both Love and Anthony is just as exciting as a few years back when I thought we could get two of Lebron/Wade/Lee or Bosh, and wound up with Boozer.

I am giddily daydreaming about a ridiculously good Bulls starting lineup next year. And I am pretty glumly confident that it won't happen. I feel like GarPax are the kids at the swimming pool too nervous to do a cannonball off the diving board, and end up slipping quietly into the shallow end instead.

(damn, do I hope I eat crow in two months)

Exactly, people don't realize that 1.7% that turned into Rose saved them from their 10 year quest of getting a star. They have been mediocre and underachieving for 10 years now and getting by just shuffling the deck.

But that's not the point, the point is that Love has a list, and we have to beat the other teams on that list. It's not very likely Chicago is the only team on that list, therefore I believe going all out for him is the best way to approach it. Divvying up the assets to try and go for both Love and Melo is IMO a mistake. The only way that works is if there's collusion involved between the two, which I guess isn't entirely impossible given what the heat did.

Not quite sure how we would acquire both Love and Melo without giving up Noah or Rose. I don't think the math works out on that scenario. If anyone can enlighten me as to how that is a possibility, please be my guess. I would personally be fine with either route as I think that adding either one of these guys makes us instant contenders with a hopefully near healthy Rose coming back. But much to my chagrin I think adding both is a pipedream.

Exactly...Pat Riley is too busy scoring a 10 on a dive he just did while GarPax are sharing eachothers floaties. lol

So..wow. This is gonna be exciting. If there's one guy Derrick should lift his recruiting ban for, it's Love. Kevin has publicly said he likes the Bulls/Chicago, and I'm pretty sure he and Derrick train together in LA. If Derrick doesn't at least leave him a note on his windshield or something, I'm super pissed. Derrick works on Love, Jo works on Melo. If the two come together, through the greatest blessing from the basketball gods that any fanbase has ever experienced, then great. But as others have said, we've still kind of got to pick one so we don't end up losing out on both. And if we want both and Love is taking the max, Taj is definitely gone.

We've got some things to think about. Do we prefer Rose/Noah/Melo/Taj/cap space, or Rose/Noah/Melo/Love/filled out with really young and/or really old players? Gonna spend the next hour or so putting together some offseason mocks, so I'll have a decision, but on the surface it's a tough choice.

Melo and Love are both highly available. By all accounts, they are both keen on landing here.

If I had to pick from the 2....I think I would go after Melo. Melo with Rose, Butler, Noah, Taj, Draft pick(s), Nikola, MLE is just awesome.

If you have a 5 of Rose/Butler/Melo/Love/Noah you'll have players in line trying to take the minimum for this team.

bad sign that GS suddenly comes up. Just like it was for the Clippers for Melo. It means these guys are looking for a way to get to California. That's what you would call, a leg up on the Bulls

Wake up people, theres no way we can get Melo AND Love. I will be happy if we are only able to get one. I prefer Melo to Love because there is no better scorer in the league other then durrant and even thats debatable. Would it be nice to get both? Yes, but this is not 2k and you better believe teams will be throwing the kitchen sink at both players. To be honest its not a guarentee that the bulls get one of these players. People have to understand that the Gar/Pax cant force neither one to come here. I dont think that this summer would be a failure if we dont end up getting either one. I actually hope the bulls dont feel pressured to overspend for Love by giving up Mirotic and ALL of our draft picks and Taj. I rather have Melo and Mirotic if thats the case.

We need to think of packages to get both here...

For Love- Taj,MJD, 16, 19, future 1st?

For Melo- Boozer,Snell, Sac Pick, Nikola?(probably would sign since its New York)

If you get K Love 1st...then you can work on a Melo deal. And if Love is here, Melo will push to come here I would assume. Which would make it easier.

I wouldn't go that far yet. But if more information becomes available that shows an unwillingness to part with certain assets, then I'll happily get start that notion in the future.

Why not? These guys feel assbackwards into a superstar after failing with their last "contending team." Now they can't even acquire another star for going on 5 years! What have they done besides building a mediocre team for 10 years now? They have failed on every opportunity other than a handful of moves over the last decade.

I'm trying to be fair and reasonable.

Let's see if we actually can get these players first. I know it seems like it now but let's wait until the draft and free agency before we just make a decision.

Like I said if we refuse to offer expendable players then I'll start the "fire GarPax" thread myself.

Agree to disagree then, Houston wasn't on Dwight's list until the last second, same with CP and the clips. If Love is serious about going to a team that has the clearest path to winning, then OKC is on that list by default.
