I was surprised as well considering he has not been with the team until recently.

This has been my guy since day 1 of the draft. Never been fond of euros but this guy is definitely going to be a good player in this league IMO.

I missed his minutes but from what I can see from the highlights, he looks like a real 6'8 with a solid build and had a solid first step for his size as well. If he can drive on his defender successfully as well as knock down the 3, he should be a solid offensive threat.

Is he big and agile enough to play some stretch 4? 3-5 minutes in the future?

He sure played a nice floor game. Clanked his 3 point shots though. It was obvious for me that he isn't used to the NBA three point distance yet. If he can get that shot in his repertoire he could get higher in the rotation.

Very promising for a late 2nd rounder.

I see Zipser having potential, but I don't expect anything from him until next season. He needs to figure out the NBA game, but I see him as potential back-up 3-4 - which would be great.

I just watched the last game and I was glad to see Zippy get out there towards the end. He looked nervous as hell, but I guess you can understand that when first beginning your NBA career in a foreign country. After he got over the nerves though, he scored a couple of nice buckets and looked reasonably active on the defensive end. He obviously still has a long way to go, but (for me) he didn't look out of place out there, and that's a decent starting point for a second-round Euro.

I will update my prior comment to say that he shows enough on both sides of the ball to trot out there in blowouts and I won't fear that the lead will be in jeopardy, and while that sounds like an insult, we've not had a decent enough "protect the lead" line-up for years. I would be fine watching a Dinwiddie, Valentine, Snell, Zipser, Felicio line-up being up 20 in the 4th...now we just need to have a bunch of those situations happen!

I REALLY like PAUL ZIPSER

Post#210 » by Mister247 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 10:27 pm

He's deceptively Athletic! I mean he's really Athletic!

His shot/scoring is pure! And he plays Defense.

If/since we're keeping Lopez (Still not a fan) I would experiment with Zipser at the 4.

Right now, we lack consistent scoring and 3 point shooting in the front court. Overall Rondo had improved his 3 point shot but it'd be nice to have someone you can stretch the floor since Rondo, Wade, and Butler attack from mid range to the basket. I was hoping Doug would improve but he's still shaky and I'd just bring him off the bench right now.

Zipser, though he's a rookie here, he's experienced overseas and it shows. I like his overall game and like Valentine, he's ready to play NOW!

If he continues to play like he is, throughout the preseason, I'd start him at the 4.

He'll still get most of his PT with the Windy City Bulls.

But he's seems like another draft gem. Kudos to the FO.
