Any of the top picks will do me, I'll trust the scouting.
I do hope for MPJ though just so that I can laugh at all the melting.

MPJ is still the favorite on here although his lead is decreasing. The melting will be by a specific few that have vehemently opposed to him from the start. To be fair I would melt similarly if we draft Mikal Bridges, but thankfully I don't see that happening. A guy with nothing but role player potential doesn't seem to be on our agenda.

Players can surprise though, I won't melt but I'll be disappointed if they go for someone just because it's the safe pick.
We've got nothing to lose by swinging for the fences.

Since Kevin Knox has been coming up frequently, I took it upon myself to watch some tapes of him.
I didn't particularly like what I saw, but I do like what he may become.
Good: Athletic profile and measurements fit the NBA. Able (if lazy) defender, and looks like he could defend several positions. Reads the offensive game well enough to put in lobs. Finishing near the rim, goes above easily. Nice floaters. Shot has a good arc. 77% from the line is promising. Very young.
Bad: Very raw, hard to project. Tunnel vision. Bad shot selection. Loose handle. Dribbles too high. Inconsistent shooter. Questionable bbiq. Lacking off-ball effort - motor issues?
Unless he killed in the workouts, too many question marks for #7.

From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

Denzel's going to be good, Portis is going to be even better. Nwaba was GREAT pick up & they may have even been right about Cameron Payne, who showed admirable signs in Fred's system. Lauri is going to be legend.
I trust Paxson & co. when it comes to draft picks. I expect the 22nd pick to be an excellent selection as well.
Seriously? Drafted
2013 Tony Snell
2012 Marquis Teague
2010 Kevin Seraphin and traded him and Hinrich for a trade exemption
2009 James Johnson took 5 years before he was anything for other teams
2007 Aaron Gray 2nd round
They make mistakes and let's not even go into trades for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden or FA signings that were awful
Everyone makes mistakes but compared to other teams track records, the Bulls have a pretty good decade to decade and a half run of not having a ton of huge misses in the draft. Again, relative to everyone else I’d say.
I trust Pax too for the most part. The problem I have is that when he misses is when he veers from his typical pick and goes for the home run and takes a big risk. (ie- Tyrus, Teague, JJ). The player with all this "upside". That is the type of pick Porter is.

We are in the perfect position to take a "big risk", Porter is an excellent fit for us.

Bruh, you are out here complaining 24/7 about this and that regarding MPJ because of some edited footage of a tape, but meanwhile there are scouts with 100s of tapes of him who are even considering taking him top 5 in the loaded upcoming draft, despite not not having such a clean bill of health. What does that say about the kid or even you? It is apparent to most fans out here that you are on a hidden agenda. You probably should fund a billboard that says, "Say no to Michael Porter JR" and put it on Madison Avenue.

And sometimes they hit home runs.
2011 Cleveland had the 1 and 4 pick
Bulls had 28(James Johnson)and 30. Cleveland got kyrie and Tristan Thompson. Bulls got Niko and Butler. What do they have to show for it now?
Cleveland: way over payed Tristan Thompson and the 8th pick
Bulls: Lavine, Dunn, Lauri, and the 22nd pick. Not bad. Gar for retroactive 2011 GM of the year.
You have years and picks and timelines all mixed up. James Johnson was taken at 16 and not in 2011 but 09 I think. You forgot to mention Cleveland got Lebron back and the first title in franchise history because of Kyrie and TT. Also, I wouldn't call Lavine (or even Dunn) a good thing. At least not yet to the point of calling someone GM of the year for moves leading to those pickups. And lastly, how many #22 picks have been good NBA players?
Gar was GM of the Year in 2011 anyway. Everything you are talking about would count for the 2012 season. For his offseason pickups summer of 2010 of Boozer, Korver, and Ronnie Brewer that helped the Bulls win 62 games and get to the ECF's. He deserved it. It's just about everything that happened between then and now when he was (really) in charge that most people have a problem with.

uh, bruh. Get a clue. The game tape is not edited it is full game. The Adidas NAtion and other tapes of him are edited to try and make him look good and they don't. That is the Fing problem. people are getting all giddy over some crappy mix tapes of him and not actually watching him PLAY BASKETBALL. And those scouts are Fing morons if they take him top 5 and victims of a herd mentality because it sure as hell isn't anything he's done against any decent players.

Re: NBA Draft 2018 6.0: Lucky #7 and 22.
Draftweek started, soon the first moves will be made.
This year I think the movement will be later than ever, because so many players seem to be in the same tier and more or less the same position.
I'm super excited and can't wait to see how it all goes down.
I miss Chad Ford and his inside stories and I miss the original draftexpress. The quality of information this year is really watered down imo. New outlets are there but not as good.
Note to Paxson : don't throw assets away, keep cool and take BPA.
I'd love to see us get one pick in the 11-15 range, those seem attainable to me. If possible get one of the Bridges with that pick.

You are truly misguided because, if it was not for the back surgery, the kid would climb up all the way to #1 on the chart. The kid took a 3-25 team, prior to his arrival, to an undefeated record and won the national championship in his senior year. Do you know whose team he beat in the finals? The kid has been a winner. You better go every night from this day forward and pray for one of these teams ahead of the Bulls to select him, because he is otherwise coming home. Then, you will be the one with eggs on your face.

Re: NBA Draft 2018 6.0: Lucky #7 and 22.
I've said this before but it bears repeating: the common trait shared among the best players in the league is not their size, their HS rank, their 3/4 sprint speed, or their HS mix tape but it's their ability and willingness to improve their game. You get no special points in a NBA game because you were ranked higher in HS or had a better mixtape. The fear I have with a guy like Porter, beyond the obvious injury concerns, is the stunning lack of improvement from his early HS days to his later HS days. With a guy like Mikal Bridges, you can see the growth in his game both as a shooter as well as ability to finish as well as physically. I have no idea why every draft this becomes the issue. It's what I missed most about Donovan Mitchell because I thought he wasn't going to get better at what I thought was a problem for him (finishing around the rim with a live dribble in traffic) but he did in seemingly one summer.
The best players in the league are a mix of two types of player: players who were top HS ranks/great athletes who improved their game dramatically in the league or a bunch of players who were picked over in HS, had middling to very successful college careers who entered the league without the hype of being a former prime-time player and then just kept improving their game in the league.
I don't think Porter is going to end up out of the league in five years or something but I just think Mikal Bridges has a higher potential upside than Porter because I believe far more in Bridges' ability to get better and play the position(s) he has the size to as opposed to Porter. By no means am I saying it's some guaranteed thing that Mikal will be the next Klay or whomever you want to compare him to, just I believe in his ability now + his ability to get better more than I believe in Porter's current ability + Porter's ability to get better.

The same scouts who've made tons of errors in the Top 5 before. GM's are much more informed than us, but they're still making a projection. Donovan Mitchell may become the best player in the last draft and he slid to 13.

He wasn't the only reason his HS was good. They were stacked and loaded with ringers. His brother for one.. then Brandon Roy decided to coach there and they started busing kids in from around the area. yeah, one of those deals. I read a whole article about the transformation of Nathan Hale. Get a former NBA all star to coach and the kids from all around start showing up.
Also, I keep hearing "if not for the back surgery"... Well, he Fing had the back surgery and it is a big deal. You just in this thread, heard two doctors saying that there is just no way to know. If he is lying about his pain levels and frequency (which any smart person would do with MILLIONS on the line) then the team who picks him is going to just be screwed.

I see some similarities.

We are actually in a position to take a risk and if they draft him I'll back medical professionals and scouts that have watched him over your blind bias any day.

Let's say this draft pick (whoever it is) doesn't work out. Would you say that Chicago was in a position to afford to miss? I absolutely don't agree with that.

I am terrified at the idea of drafting Michael Porter Jr. He has more red flags than a Chinese embassy.
