RJ is not a spontaneous athlete, but he is a relatively smart one. He’s 21 and in his third year and he makes lots of incremental improvements each year. Some Knicks fans don’t care for him and want to trade him, but it would be a mistake. He’ll end up being the 2nd best player from his draft after Ja. Zion is amazing, but he’s eating himself out of the league. RJ will keep rising though.

Yeah, I wasn't a believer in the draft, but he improved steadly each season to the point that I think he's a foundational player. Does a little bit of everything and is a two-way player.

He’s becoming an elite defender right before our eyes. Not elite yet, but he’s becoming our stopper. Didn’t know it was possible since he’s not the quickest guy, but he gets into his crouch stance, sticks out those arms and moves his feet and he’s fcking people up. Star players are shooting poorly against RJ so he’s earning it on that end of the court for sure.

Defense is desire and knowing your opponent. Was Bill Russel more athletic than Wilt? RJ has good hands, good footwork and he is long. On offense he knows how to use his length against smaller opponents. Like I said he is Deng, but still more athletic. Toppin needs to keep learning from Taj too. That is. A perfect mentor for him. Thibs is my favorite coach ever, aside from him wearing guys out, but damn if he doesn’t make them reach potential.

Mitch was just absolutely trolling fun. He played everyone’s emotions not in antagonistic way just strung everyone along and then poof. Hands down best troll (whatever that means).

It was a painful loss, but we saw good fight from this team down the stretch. The first 5 games have started to expose what this teams weaknesses are. We lack athleticism and size at the 4 and 5, and right now there isn't a reliable scorer off the bench until Coby returns. Not that I expected us to contend for a title this year but we still have a lot of good basketball to look forward to. Hopefully AK will make some moves to balance the roster out when the time comes.

Hard for me to be mad at tonight's outcome. Didnt play well but didnt lay down either.

Beyond that, saw a lot of Bulls legends that defined the last 13 years of my life. Kurt Thomas, Ben Gordon, C-Booz, Aaron Gray, Lu Deng, Kirk, Keith Bogan.

Cool ass night.

Said the same thing this week. Taj has already blessed Obi who is starting to show signs. Taj is one of my favorite players now. Just fantastic guy to have on your team and he’s won games for us.

Yeah, that's fair.
OTOH, KnicksGod was just an ****, banning people left and right on the GB for only disagreeing with him.

Edit: he's still active and an admin nonetheless???

That's atypical. Don't usually see mods acting like that and keeping their title. Oh well.

I fear what the outcome of this game would have been had Zach had 2 fully functioning thumbs. I'd like to think his left thumb is good for at least 1 point.

Seriously though - was a very competitive game with playoff vibes in the 4th. Great learning experience for both teams. Hope Zach's injury isn't a nagging one and he gets back to 100%

That first half was an amazing play-off intensity back and forth.

The 3rd and most of the 4th was a Thibs team putting the clamps down on their opponent and the last 2 minutes showed a tonne of heart and fight the Bulls haven't had in years...

If this were a best of 7 each game would get better and better.

Maybe, but the Knicks were better defensively and Chicago has to gel offensively. Bulls might have been to reliant on Zach had he been healthy. Knicks beat the Bulls by being better and Chicago needs its lumps to get better. I’m just glad they clawed back after being down, but Knicks deserved that win with or without Zach’s thumb. This as you said is the type of game good teams need to play to become better.

Great game, sucks we lost but not too mad. Really awesome seeing all the familiar faces. I couldn't make out everyone but I think Booze, MDJ, Thabo, BG, Toni, etc.

I was at the game. Nosebleeds but front row so a great view. That was one of my main takeaways. Lonzo is strong as an Ox. Randle was trying to bully ball his way to the bucket and Lonzo wasn't budging at all.

The other take away was Thibs is still a great defensive mind. I don't think it was Lavine's hand that made him less effective. It was Thibs defensive scheme that had 2 guys blitzing him every time he had the ball. Other guys, especially DD, need to hit their shots and make him pay for it.

It was not our best game. Randle was a bonehead and we still won. Both him and Lavine lost their composure. We’re still learning how to play with each other just like your guys. You’ll get better as the season goes on and so will the Knicks. But we’re a deeper team than the Bulls so I’d bet on the Knicks improving a bit more. Glad to have some kind of rivalries brewing again in the East.

It likely wasn’t your best game, but it was probably up there. While both teams will improve over time, I think the Bulls have way more room to grow. Your core is fairly intact from the team that you started with for the 20/21 season. You also have playoff experience. Chemistry should be at a different level than us right now. The Bulls only have 3 players left over from our opening day roster from last season…and one of them is still injured, and hasn’t played. So there is a loooot of gelling to take place. While you guys do have the advantage on the bench, I think the Bulls starters are better. Wildcard for you guys will be RJ, and PWill for us…we’ll see how much they develop.

What did we all make of Tony Bradley's 6 minutes.

I thought he did something we haven't seen from this team so far in that he actually effected shots at the rim.

Would really like to see him get some more run

Not really an exceptional game from us so it was not close to our ceiling. I’m not claiming we have close to the best starting unit, but we do have some of the best depth and it has and it will win us games. We lost control in the final minutes, but before that we were the better team on defense in particular. And that is ultimately a team effort factor more than a talent factor. It’s a Thibs team and that may be our real X factor still. But a healthy Mitch is a game changer as you learned tonight. We have more upside than you probably understand yet. Our draft was probably pay dirt but because our depth Grimes and McBride are sitting for now. But these kids are really good. Grimes has one of the purest strokes I’ve seen and he seems cold-blooded and plays defense. We’ve got talent, just no Top 10 or even Top 20 players. And it may not matter.
