That helps Zach and P.Will but DeMar is screwed off ball lol... Wish we could have traded him for a 3andD player...

Russ
Zach
Bridges
P.Will
Vuc...

That definitely would have been an improved lineup for what the team needs. The only bad thing is the turnovers may go up. The ball stops in Russ hands more than Demars but Russ still passes more while Demar will hit the midrange shots more.

He is a point guard that while not at the level of 4 years ago, is still a good player. He is going to run the offense better then anyone currently on this team. Either way we are not winning a title this year.

I'm fairly certain a large portion of Bulls fans would have bemoaned the contract size and age or Kevin Durant if we traded for him at the deadline... It's kinda just what we do

Russ managed 10+ assists on a team where his best shooter was Andre Roberson and was getting close to 8 assists off the bench with The Lakers...

He would definitely be able to set up Catch and Shoot Zach and Behind the line P.Will

He's a very inefficient scorer at this point in his career, not just his 3pt shot, his free throws too.

He turns the ball over quite a bit, too.

As far as fit I think most are referring to DeRozan as they're both poor 3pt shooting mid range players and think the rest of the roster is a pretty decent fit, especially Zach and Vuc.

I've never been a fan of Westbrook but I'm aware of the positives he'd bring (rebounding, pushing the pace and playmaking).

Russ isn't the perfect fit but if he comes in and accepts being mainly a facilitator and making guys run the floor it could improve the team for this season, or it could blow up in their faces.

ThreeMileAllan wrote:I understand Russ has a low ball iq in late game situations. But I also understand this team thrives when a rebounding point guard pushes the pace, which Russ does. I think this team can benefit from that upside more often than not. And any late game boneheaded plays we will just have to live with or understand that we probably wouldn't be in that position anyway if we didn't have Russ.

Is ir really any different than having Lavine playmake at the end of the game??

We just need a point guard tbh

I do hope you're right about what Russ can possibly do if he showed up. There are a whole suite of issues to consider positive and negative. But getting the ball out of DDR and Lavine's controlling hands is THE starting place of progress for the Bulls if they are ever going to get off. I don't even care if the team makes zero progress. I'm for getting to the starting line, even if the starting line is the beginning of the end. Even so, I don't necessarily want to focus on the offense either. Consider what happens to defence, transition and rebounding. Who knows what happens. Having a problem worrying about possibly making things worse with Russ is as much a dysfunctional thing as any Westbrook aspect. Let go of this team, and embrace change of every kind. Don't be like AKME afraid of taking a step back. Step back from what? Who cares. Let it burn. Let it all burn.

If it were to happen i guess the best case scenario is he gives us a boost ala the wizards a few years ago. worst case is we continue to look mediocre, only now Russell Westbrook gets to be apart of it. Personally i think he picks the clips.

I imagine he'll choose to go to the Clippers.

If he comes to the Bulls, it'll be just one more firm kick in the nuts for me as a fan. I know a lot of Bulls fans want him and I don't fault any of you for that opinion. In my opinion, he makes watching a game much, much less fun.

Also: If he does well for us as a starter and we even win a playoff game(!) before inevitable early elimination, what will that do to affect Karnisovas' utterly failed roster building? Do we hear more BS about all our talent and how the East got weaker? And if he's a disaster for us, as I expect, the Bulls would still win enough games to have very little chance at retaining a Top 4 pick.

He aint moving the needle. Keep him away.

Should have just offered Demar and the Portland pick to Washington and they would have probably filled all their wholes if they accepted.

This team is going nowhere with or without him, I seriously doubt they would extend him, exactly what is the problem with signing him? Would at least add entertainment value, something interesting to watch. Not sure how he would be used but why the hell not, its not like he would be taking time away from some budding superstar, Saying all that I would think he may have better and more interesting options.

Normally I'd agree, or at least understand that perspective.

But can you really get that much less fun to watch than the current Bulls in the fourth quarter. I think he'll actually make it 100 times more enjoyable to watch. Say what you will, but he doesn't stop until the final whistle ... unlike most of this team.

I don’t see any true PGs being waived and that’s what this team really lacks. We have a backcourt of off guards with the exception of Lonzo who’s not coming back this year. This team is toast

Please bring in Westbrook. It's the only thing that could make this team worth watching.

Yet another thread full of words, and energy, and sound and fury signifying nothing. No waiver guy is coming here. This team is radioactive.

That's not Russell saying he wants to sign there. That's PG saying he wants Russell to sign there.

Big difference.

Either way he definitely think he's heading to the Clippers.
