Even if Coby is marginally better on defense (debatable), his season is not looking significantly better than Giddey's. He's not nearly the playmaker or rebounder. Especially when you factor in Giddey is two years younger and on a new team, where Coby has been here with this system his whole career.

Coby White age 22 (same age Giddey is now) per 36: 15pts, 4 assists, 4 rebounds. 44% from the field, 37% from 3. His defense was pretty trash then too.

Fair point, but feels like deciding between the toothless woman to the unibrow woman to buy a drink for at 3am in the bar.

Unibrow obviously

See the difference of opinion? At 3 in the morning, looking for sex in dark places, probably picking the toothless woman for the unique head potential, lmao!

Course, I'm in my 50's with a full set of dental implants, so wildly biased perspective lol. It's a great time to be alive.

Unibrow low expectations and fairly young.

Sorry to interrupt but if we could talk about basketball for a second... Giddey has definitely stepped up his effort on the defensive end in the past couple weeks, right? I'm not just imagining the multiple steals and good rotations tonight? Obviously it's one of the worst teams in the league missing several starters but he made the Hornets look silly several times.

I will certainly agree with that. Maybe Billy is getting through to him. Maybe he is just getting comfortable with the system and his teammates. Good to see!

This thread is up past 200 posts, but I guess it's an imposition on guys if we joke for a couple of posts not directly related to basketball. Lighten up, bro.....looks like this is your first post in this thread in forever, nobody would have said you were interrupting if you just posted your statement without trying to crack on us for joking around. Agree with the rest of your statements, btw.

It's definitely good to see that he's playing with more confidence now. Giddey has looked way better on both ends recently. Let's hope he keeps it up.

soooooooooooooooooooooo

the question is - is Giddy a candidate for being a member of a starting 5 of a GOOD team. A winning team?

I am not sure.

Triple dub king. Almost two in a row without the Injury and getting them naturally with relative ease not forcing it like Westbrook etc .

No reason he can't be. Do you want to max him out expecting a top 2 guy probably not at this point.

Max isn’t even in the equation. $20 to $25 million. Yes.

Best game as a Bull tonight on both ends.

He was good on defense. Great to see. Played physical and smart.

Kept attacking and pushing the pace.

If he plays winning ball on both ends like he is capable of he’s a keeper. Don’t think he will ever really be able to get his shot but if his 3 ball can continue to improve he will attack close outs and score.

The question should be rephrased IMO. Can Giddey be a ceiling raiser for a good team? Or at least an important contributor? OKC does not need him to win 50 games.
