Idea: Jabari & Arci for Rubio
Why for Utah: They need a stretch-pf, and can partially mask his defense with an elite paint-protector in Gobert. Rubio expires; Jabari gives them a team option, which is nice for a team with no FA allure.
Why for Jabari: he’s Mormon. Also gets to escape the tough Chicago press/fans, and let’s be honest — once Bobby returns, he’s not gonna be happy with his minutes.
Chicago: PASSING. Alternative to Dunn. Can also defend. Maybe Boylen vetoes because he wants to slow the game down, and Rubio’s shooting hurts in half-court sets, but it’d be a nice trial to see a passer feed our bigs. Just scared he’s makes us too good for the lottery, and Dunn will feel threatened, possibly move to bench. (My 2c: who cares? We need to evaluate his worth for the extension.)
And I appreciate Arci’s underdog spark this month, but let’s be honest: he’s not in the big picture.

Not a specific trade rec, but if Portis puts up numbers like last season, and Holiday can increase his efficiency with Hoiberg gone ... they should totally look out West for trade partners.
Everything is separated by so little, you could get a first that COULD turn into a good lotto pick. You want to target someone that will just miss playoffs, so when you attach a protection you can still get a 11-16 pick.
Portis could be a good match for Portland. They don't have much front court depth after Aminu and Nurkic. Portis is def better thank Collins or Leonard. He'd provide some scoring versatility and boards to turn a Nurkic/Aminu/Portis combination into a real balanced frontcourt for Lillard to work with.
Holiday might fetch something from Utah. They need another shooter even with Korver. And Holiday ALSO brings an easy fit in line with their defensive principles.

If it looks like we will win our way out of a top pick this year would you guys think it's a good idea to trade For wall ?
I would prefer a top pick and hopefully Zion but just in case

No to Wall. He is a good player, but not supermax good, and has a 15% trade kicker on top of his contract. That contract would cripple the Bulls for years.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

We are not as far along in the rebuild as I had hoped before the season. Love Lauri and Wendell as future pieces not sold on dunn or lavine despite his big numbers. Everyone else is not even worth talking about long term. You can't even consider giving a guy like portis a long term contract with the current state of this team.
We need to look to get a third piece by any means necessary. I completely do not have confidence in lavine as a #1 option. If I'm in charge I throw Lauri into that position and see if Zach can improve his efficiency as a second banana. If he's not up to even being a good 2nd scorer, then I don't think he is a good player to build a winning team with. Really we need to add a piece that is better than anything we have which would push zach to third banana possibly. If he isn't neck and neck with Lauri as a second scorer at that point, I think you need more of a two way player as a #3 guy.
I know he's young and playing decently right now but I would sell high on him now if I can get more of a two way player. I know I'm possibly getting ahead of my self and being tough on zach, but there is also risk in letting everything play out and him losing value.
Zach, portis- wash - bradley beal
Or
Lavine ,Lopez -wash- Beal ,mahinmi

Sell high on portis/holiday.
This team needs vets terribly. Having all young guns on a team is a bad recipe - and this has been well known for a while. Not suggesting making a trade for one, but we really need to pick up a couple OG vets in the offseason

That feels like a trading same for same...not sure what the benefit is.

The team needs an identity. Something to rely on. If they tanked properly Doncic would've done that.
I don't think there's a FA who can help solve that and don't know if i top pick will do it. But a top pick is the teams best bet right now.

Kings already traded this year first. So the earliest 1st you could get would be 2021.

If I’m Chicago I’m looking at a draft day trade with the knicks and shipping Lavine there

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
I'd love to add Randle, but don't see why the Pelicans would consider trading him. They have a real nice duo at PF between him and Mirotic. He'll have a player option next season too, but if I'm the Bulls I'd be keeping an eye on him, I was really glad the Lakers renounced him, that was such a terrible move, you could see the potential.
Everyone on the Bulls should be available, no one is close to untouchable on the trade market and they should really be looking to create some kind of clear direction. The current roster is just a mess of players that don't really complement each other and the lack of a PG in a league full of exciting young athletic guards is a bit annoying.
I don't think the Pelicans or Warriors would be overly interested but something like
Chicago trades: Portis, Holiday, Payne and 2nd round pick
Chicago receives: Randle and Cook
GS trades: Bell, Livingston and Cook
GS receives: Holiday, Portis, Payne and 2nd round pick
NO trades: Randle
NO receives: Bell & Livingston
