Wow. Beside solid defense, I see no similarities. Chris was a pure PG who couldn't shoot a lick, and he knew it. Ayo appears to have confidence in his shot to me. Also, I see huge differences between their size and athletic ability.

PWill is still young but he actually played some games in the league. He needs to play better than this in summer league.

Look at Desmond Bane. 32pts with plus-26 +/-. 10/19 from the field and 6/8 from 3.

He played well cominh off the bench last year in Memphis and now he looks like a super star in summer league.

I'm not saying Bane will keep playing like stars in NBA. I'm saying players who went through the league should play better. PWill was disappointing in today' game.

15pts 6/20 from the field with minus-24 +/-(worst among Bulls players) and he committed 5 turovers.

Focus on the D first, then let the offense develop over time so Bulls can evaluate after DeRozan and Vuc’s contracts are up.

It will be that way. Summer league is just part of his development. They basically had him playing a LeBron role to push him out of his comfort zone and work on/refine his incredibly diverse skill set.

You’ll see all of that in the regular season too, but it will sporadic and opportunistic. The most important offensive thing for him to be working on in training camp will be reading impromptu cuts. The team is becoming loaded with players who can find cutters.

Simonovic might pan out, too soon to tell.
But man, Paul Reed would be exactly what we need right now and he was ours for the taking last year.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Need to watch more and obviously against real competition, but Simonovich might be more a PF than a C. He’s listed at 6’11, but he seems smaller than that. Might not be ready to go up against NBA centers.

Pat looked great being the #1 option out there. Head and shoulders the best player on the team. He’s playing the lead role for this SL team, and I’m sure it’s tough being the captain of the squad when you’re the youngest guy and still not even 20 yet. The main takeaway is how aggressive he looked, at least for the first half. You want to see that out of your up and coming prospect. I salivate at the thought of what this kid would like in 2-3 years once he grows into his NBA body.

While I agree that I see almost no similarities between Duhon and Ayo, Duhon was a solid 3 point shooter so I don't think it's accurate to say he couldn't shoot a lick. He was a defensive minded floor general who was limited to catch and shoot 3s and was not a threat to drive whatsoever.

Agreed, Duhon - especially by that era's standards - was a very solid three-point shooter. I'd say above average to be honest.

We have already seen he can play in the NBA. I’m not worried about one Summer league game or even 5.

Suggs looked good. His athleticism flashes.

Also Moody looks like he will be getting mins w Dubs. Plays like a vet and can shoot.

I liked Marko today. Quick feet. Competes. Aggressive. Has some potential on D and rebounding. He’s skilled.

I ageee, but that specific play was by the other dude with big hair. Unfortunately, I actually got bummed a couple times because I thought Ayo was making the shots this guy was. The one you’re referencing looked like a 2K sequence where a guy presses the wrong shot animation and figures he’ll just go with it

So, Grant Riller seems like a bust. I know that's the most expected result at his draft slot, but I had some hope he would become useful as a spark plug off the bench.

I'm hoping they give Baxter more run. He seems like a low BBIQ guy, but I'd prefer to give guys like that some real g-league experience to see if he can be developed. Definitely worth our 2-way spot.

Baxter is 25. Sure, the college highlight reel was fun, but I don't see anything that indicates that he's "definitely" worth a 2-way.

I think one spot should and will go to Dotson, leaving us with one open spot. If you want to stay positive after the first game you could say the race for the second spot is still wide open (because nobody else showed much of anything, that is).

I hear you. Does anyone know if we already committed to Dotson? IIRC there was something about it a month or so ago, but I couldn't find it.

I think he's still a restricted free agent, haven't seen anything else.

While I agree that he's good, our guard rotation looks pretty much set and we still have a lot of other holes to fill. I'd definitely focus on that first. I don't think he's getting more than 2-way from anyone else.

I'm with you. He isn't a bad player, but I don't see his playmaking ability. I like his ability to get to the basket off the dribble and he gives decent effort on defense. I think he'll be a good "offensive guard" to play alongside Caruso if Coby is out for the early part of the season, but then I don't think he'll sniff a minute of play.

Yeah, I think that was Thompson that failed to see his defender fall down and then took a bad turn-around shot. Ayo's shots consisted of a floater and a few drives, I believe.
