It’s the same stuff we saw a few years ago with the Dynasty Warriors.

They warm up and toy around with you for two quarters, then pedal to the metal for a completely demoralizing run in the third, white flag by the other team in the fourth.

But the craziest part is they’re doing this with just Steph and Draymond + defensive role players. They have guys like Poole or Wiggins contributing but they’re no Klay.

This makes me reflect on our own squad and how we can improve the role players, shooters that are willing to defend. I also wouldn't mind seeing what it looks like for us to shift our focus from the fourth to third quarter and really put teams away. It seems a lot of nights, we just maintain through the third so there's energy for the fourth whereas the Dubs are leaving the fourth for stat padding.

Still seems like we're a move away from being a serious contender, to get an above average starter at the 4 spot.

Yeah, the question is, who could we get, without sacrificing some of our other strong suits. The only team that is scary in the east, is a healthy Bucks team. Nets may not have Kyrie all year, and without him, they aren’t that intimidating. I still need to see more from Miami. Other than that, even without a solid starting 4, this team could go very deep in the playoffs.

I don’t even know if Shaq is giving a ton of credit to the bulls, or just making it known that the East is truly up for grabs this season.

Steph is such a badass. He not only scored almost as much as Durant and Harden combined (37 vs. 43), but he also outrebounded every Nets starter.

Durant will one day greatly regret leaving GS. He and Steph truly were a perfect combo and would’ve won multiple championships, even with Klay missing seasons.

Agreed. Watching GSW vs Nets and if either or both get their players back (well Klay will be back but what Klay) we still need more to compete. At best still a dark horse imho but getting more convincing everyday. You kniw earnjng it the old fashioned way instead of being anointed. I’ll take the doubt. Let’s just keep proving it.

Question is, who do we get at the 4? I'd love to get a solid starting 4 to pair with Vooch and slide Pat to the bench.
Domantas Sabonis
Jerami Grant
Miles Bridges

We'd have to give up a lot for Grant or Sabonis, Miles Bridges is up for grabs though, assuming Charlette doesn't toss him the bag.

I think Bridges is staying to, but I would like him. Grant might be possible, just because of timelines but he wanted to be the leader or a team, which he wouldn’t be and not sure what Detroit would ask, vs the assets we have. Centered around P Will, but we don’t have enough salary filler or draft picks and enticing assets at this point. Same for Sabonis as they likely want to go into full rebuild. Really tough question and I don’t have a clue. That’s why AK is the GM I guess. I wouldn’t have made any move he has made so far, but he clearly has a better nose for it than I do. GarPax not so much. It is really tough because we don’t have much to give up that we would be willing to part with or able to. That’s why people were claiming we are asset poor and we are, yet what we got back has outperformed what we thought it would.

Offseason? Maybe we find a miracle trade for someone who wants to come here and we make a run? In season hope a buyout guy can give us something. Howard won’t be that guy but that thug wouldn’t be bad to add. Seeing that we play effective small bal, I would love Mann and he could play small ball 4 for us like we already have but what impetus does LAC have?

I guess the plus side is we had this situation before just looking to get mediocre and now we have it looking to get really legit. Obviously a Jokic is a dream scenario likely for both sides ( he would likely today prefer Zach and DDR to Murray and MPJ) but Denver would laugh and laugh at that. What can a maybe Portland pick, injured Pat, Coby, TBJ, DJJ etc get us?

Me either. We mortgaged so much and I thought out was just to improve culture long term but we came up sooner than I expected.

Just hard to say without knowing who may become available - but safe to say I have more faith in this regime to find a deal than GarPax. Grant seems overrated to me but he's an upgrade. Sabonis seems too duplicative of Vucevic to really fit. I'd take a shot at mortgaging the future for Siakim if he became available. He's probably enough to open a 2-3 year window as a title contender. Hate to give up Pat, but I think I'd do it there. Not sure if even feasible to match his contract though, Pat, DJJ, and TBJ would have to go for sure, not sure if I ever saw anything clear about whether we retained a trade exception from the offseason.

Durant leaving was completely dumb. However, if Kyrie and Harden can stay healthy they may have a solid run and win a title.

Chicago's 4 losses this year came from the best team in the nba, a very close loss vs a motivated knicks team and two losses vs a sixer team who at the time was shooting well above their capabilities (look it up). Thats pretty damn impressive.

Siakim is interesting for sure and it looks like he might become available honestly, Barnes looks like the real deal for sure and a guy like Pat would fit their timeline. Salaries are tricky we miss having the filler of guys like Felicio and OPJ right now lol.

Can't wait to run all those games back, especially when we face the Warriors at home.

We're still in the Bulls "feeling out" phase with this completely revamped team where rotations and schemes are still being figured out.
This team hasn't come close to its full potential yet and should get better as the season goes on. Watch out, league.

It's very annoying because after the Sixers played us:

Korkmaz: 9/4 25% 3PT shooting -9
Niang: 11/2 34% 3PT shooting -6.8
Curry: 11/4 37% 3PT shooting -9.8
Sixers: 0-6

We could've easily been 12-2 if those guys just shot their career averages.

They also hit at least four shot clock buzzer beater flings.

We will have a couple wins like that too this season.

Miles & Grant are both Small Forwards, smallballing at the 4. We do that already. I'd like to get an actual PF, which means someone who can just as easily play the Center position without compromise. Miles & Jerami never play the 5.

I'm looking more at a Christian Wood type player.
