What does it mean to be in a highly leveraged position?

My guess is it means we have 7, 22 and cap space.

The other teams with cap space and more than one first round pick are Atlanta and Phoenix. They have the first and third picks in the draft, but might be looking to move up with their later picks. But it's difficult to go from say...16 to 4.

Or the Bulls will just pick Wendell Carter Jr.

My guess is the most likely outcome if no trade up happens

Which I would have no problem with. I think Carter will be SOLID as a pro.

If I can get Luka while keeping Dunn, LaVine, and Markkanen I'm doing it. Don't really care about anything else we give up.

Is Portis this generation's Donyell Marshall? Didn't Bulls brass decide Hinrich/Marshall was worth more than Wade?! :o

Yeah you need multiple creators on offense. I just wonder what Dunn can without ball in his hands.

Same as he did last year at times -- space the floor and hit assisted 3s.

This is what I would like to see happen, but it's real stretch to say that is what he did last season. Teams basically leave Dunn open for 3s.

He better be in the gym all summer working on that shot.

What does it mean to be in a highly leveraged position?

Like, they are a pipe with a lot of water pressure inside. They can bring a strong stream to focus on the flame. Lots of extra assets like Portis. Much flexibility to do deals with their roster. High capability. I'll stop now. :D

He does. Yet apparently Knox ate his lunch in a workout. FWIW

I believe that was the other Bridges, Miles.

MIkal is perfect for this team, but only after we get one more star talent player.

Yeah, I believe it was Miles as well. But honestly, Knox is very talented and probably does quite well in a 3v3 setting compared to his overall team game, at the moment.

That young core would rival any around IMO. I'm not giving up unprotected future firsts though. Any other current assets can be on the table.

Doncic is a pipe dream but really the only prospect I see making sense for a trade up. Lauri is special, I saw him hold his own against AD and I saw him win his matchup against Porzingis while being a rookie. The right partner for him doesn't need to be anything other than a tenacious rebounder and a solid rim protector, I would love Bamba next to him because he could be the very best at what Lauri lacks in but players like that are available every draft and every free agency. If I'm selling the farm for a pick I'm hoping for a lot more proven skill than just a rim protector.

In other words, they’ll probably do nothing. Then **** it all up by taking MPJ.

Fair enough, I was thinking about this years firsts and players currently on the roster, not in favor of going Brooklyn. But perhaps a protected future first I would be okay with depending on the rest of the deal.

It looks like the Bulls would have to move up to 3 to get Doncic. What would you give up to get that pick without including Dunn, LaVine, and Markkanen?

No I mean like, are WE highly leveraged in that teams can take advantage of us? Or are we highly leveraged because we have the assets and the player that we want to acquire?

Wont have a problem with it as that means the ultra conservative Bulls FO are 100% sure that his health isn't an issue.

Why are you worried about anyone other than Lauri? I’d give up every one on this team other than Lauri if it meant I could keep 7. That’s not gonna happen though. I value 7 more than Dunn and Lavigne combined.

#22, Unprotected 1st next year, pick of any 2 players on roster other than those 3, and take back a bad contract.

Return to Chicago Bulls
