I wouldn’t get too excited about that high leverage comment. We’ve had high leverage a few years with trade exceptions we didn’t use. Even with all the pieces and tools I’m expecting it to be a pretty boring night. Anything out of Carter and Hutchinson will be a surprise imo

It looks like the Bulls would have to move up to 3 to get Doncic. What would you give up to get that pick without including Dunn, LaVine, and Markkanen?

Why are you worried about anyone other than Lauri? I’d give up every one on this team other than Lauri if it meant I could keep 7. That’s not gonna happen though. I value 7 more than Dunn and Lavine combined.

You guys need to relax, we are not getting Doncic lol. Setting up yourselves for real disappointment when the pick is Wendell Carter Jr and Chandler Hutchison

My guess is it means we have 7, 22 and cap space.

The other teams with cap space and more than one first round pick are Atlanta and Phoenix. They have the first and third picks in the draft, but might be looking to move up with their later picks. But it's difficult to go from say...16 to 4.

No I mean like, are WE highly leveraged in that teams can take advantage of us? Or are we highly leveraged because we have the assets and the player that we want to acquire?

In a way, both can be occurring at the same time. But it means that with our lineup and assets, we are luxuriously in position to get something done, and we have a target in mind as motivated buyers. The other team he mentioned like that was Philly.

I'm talking how would Dunn thrive if Doncic was the primary ballhandler. We aren't getting Doncic thought so it's pointless speculation.

I think there's more than enough possessions for Dunn and Doncic to share that responsibility. Lavine was the primary ball handler for a significant number of possessions last season, you take those away from him. The movement towards fielding 3 wings is the most pronounced change in the modern nba, but the trend towards two ball dominant creators is equally prevalent.

I have to problem with sharing ballhandling duties. My point is Dunn can't really play off ball right now so it's like 4 on 5 when he isn't running the offense. I hope he gets better in that area.

I don't see it as 4 on 5 with Dunn off-ball more so than with him as the primary handler, defenses are giving him that space and daring him to shoot either way. Dunn playing off-ball also puts him in the best position to disrupt the opposing team's transition offense and he really isn't that bad of a shooter with his feet set. Lauri gives the Bulls more leniency with fielding a below-average jump-shooter on the perimeter, I think it would work without much of a hitch.

7 and Portis for 4 and Parsons.

Then waive/stretch Parsons so his contract is 10 M over 5 years.

Portis will likely get a 4/40 contract next summer anyway. So the cap hit from Portis will essentially be the same as Parsons' stretched contract, starting next year. And the extra 8 M cap hit this year is basically irrelevant.

So the net substance of the trade is 7 and Portis for 4, without any real salary cap implications. This is a small price to pay for the opportunity to move up from 7 (where our options are undesireable) to 4 (where we will likely get to choose from Bamba and JJJ).

The other thing Griffin said was that the Bulls are in a situation that they can take project players, or Porter if he needs Xtra time to rehab. He mentioned Porter would be a great pick at #7.

I’d give it a 60% chance those are the pics. And I can’t say I’d be disappointed if Bamba is off the board.

However, if that’s the case, I’d Prefer to move back and get both Clips picks and draft Knox and Bridges. Don’t care if they play the same position. Eventually they won’t. They have some of the highest ceilings for me in this draft. I’ll worry about the rest later. Then take Khyri at 22.

assume the magic are being aggressive for doncic and the hawks would be moving back because they favor trae?

our draft really hinges on dallas if that came to fruition. either we get bamba or we pick between carter/mpj

Like, they are a pipe with a lot of water pressure inside. They can bring a strong stream to focus on the flame. Lots of extra assets like Portis. Much flexibility to do deals with their roster. High capability. I'll stop now. :D

We're about to add Lafayette Fat Lever to our coaching staff. #Leveraged

Short of Doncic, I’m team Bamba as well.

Dude. Yes. I like Bobby Portis but if we can flip him and a pick to move up to #4, you have to do it.

Bamba
MPJ
WCJ

One of those three will be a Chicago Bull tomorrow, if I had to guess.
Working on becoming Titletown:

Actually the Kings moreso hold the key to this draft. An awful lot of this action is contingent on SAC leaving Doncic on the board

Hopefully when we sold our draft pick for "equity with ownership" it allows Paxson to absorb Parsons to move up.
