Yeah, it may be time to re-evaluate this thing as a priority in my life if we get no one (and I mean no one, which has a fair chance of happening right now). I'm privileged I got to see the Jordan years from '88 - '98, and I stuck it out for another 12 years after that, but there comes a time and point where it stops being worth it and you start to become a masochist. I'm starting to sympathize with Cubs fans.
Why get so emotionally involved?
I love watching the Bulls, I enjoy the team, I've enjoyed many of the players they've had. I wish the team was better, I wish it had superstars, I wish it could win another title, but the lack of those things don't need to make it a miserable experience.
Is there any other area of your life _anywhere_ where you would consider a lack of ultimate achievement to be a failure?
If your children were not the #1 athletes or #1 scholars would you view them as failures?
Do you view yourself a failure because you are not the #1 person in the world at your profession?
Do you view your wife or any other family members as failures for the same reasons?
Do you find yourself absolutely miserable for basically being a member of the masses?
You don't have to watch the team and have your happiness and enjoyment riding on the outcome. You can just enjoy it for what it is.
