Yep. Plus I think Nikola will be able to provide some of what Love would. 3pt shooter, reb, pts, ability to put the ball on the ground. And Nikola is only 22-23 yrs old? Probably only going to make 5mil for his 1st 3-4 years.

Given all the competition, I don't think that any of the above scenarios offers Minn or NY enough for Love and Melo. This is especially true given that, if we make a deal for Love, we will lose our ability to make a viable FA offer to Melo, and thus will lose leverage over the Knicks. So, here's my proposal:

Draft Night
Trade Boozer, Mirotic, 16, 19, and the Sacto pick for Love

After July 1
Trade Gibson for Asik
Trade Noah and 4M unguaranteed filler for Melo at 20.2M

Bulls end up with:

Rose
Butler, Snell
Melo, MDJ
Love
Asik, Smith

Plus the MLE and the BAE.

I honestly think that Minn, Houston and NY would make these deals. Anyone disagree?

I don't see Houston doing Asik for Taj. I think they're more likely to go after Deron or try to dump him and Lin and go after Melo. Plus, I don't want to lose Noah.

The thought of landing both Love and Anthony is just as exciting as a few years back when I thought we could get two of Lebron/Wade/Lee or Bosh, and wound up with Boozer.

I am giddily daydreaming about a ridiculously good Bulls starting lineup next year. And I am pretty glumly confident that it won't happen. I feel like GarPax are the kids at the swimming pool too nervous to do a cannonball off the diving board, and end up slipping quietly into the shallow end instead.

Don't they realize all the girls are watching? Even the lifeguards are thinking "Man, those two really should just jump off the diving board". Instead of walking up onto it every weekend, looking down at the water, then slinking off and saying they'll definitely be ready to do a really good backflip if the water's a little warmer.

Does it make sense to give him up PLUS all these other assets to land Love? 16, 19, Sac pick, Cleveland swap etc...

Mirotic imo will be a stud. Superstar....no. All Star....I don't think so? Very good NBA player...Yes.

This team could be just as good if not better imo...

Rose, Butler, Melo, Taj, Noah, Mirotic (Eventually), 16, maybe 19?, Sac Pick (Lotto pick), Cleveland swap.

Clearest path would mean the bulls. That is the one benefit of being in this weak conference......much higher probability to get to the finals. Look at how bad the Pacers have been stinking up the joint since January, but the conference is so bad, that they still make it to the conference finals. Had the pacers had to play any team in the West playoffs, and even the 9th place suns, they would have been bounced in the first round rather easily.....but instead, they have a chance to go to the NBA finals. That's how much of a difference conference makes right now.

Of course, you're not the GM of the Wolves either. So it remains to be seen whether a team trading for Love will really have to give away multiple talented players plus draft picks plus take back an undesired contract.

I think that's the next thing the Bulls front office has to be thinking.

If we think he can contribute in the same way Love does....I don't think its worth giving up all those assets for him.

I do, however, think that Minny will want more than some here are guessing.

Is it really guessing though? Ralph said the Bulls will offer Mirotic, both picks, and filler. I think a lot of us assumed that was coming from one of his sources as opposed to just being an opinion. If so, then the only guess work is who will be used for filler between Boozer and Taj+etc.

Dear (Higher force you pray to),

We have been wanting free agents to come to Chicago since Tracy McGrady spurned the Bulls back in the day. Every year, we have been given hopes that so and so superstar will come to Chicago and the result has always been disappointment. Please just give us Love or Melo this off-season or else I fear that the Bulls board will be unreadable due to rage at the Bulls FO (which is deserved if they do not get Melo or Love).

Love has leverage as the wolves cant just trade him to anybody, they will have to have his consent he will resign with whatever team.

If your Chicago its a gamble since if Rose goes down again Love will want out. Meaning you just traded away ton of assets for a 1 year rental.
