Yeah, they're not contenders.

Yeah, that's another good one too.

They've lost one game so far in the entire playoffs and it was in overtime.. beat the team with the best record in the NBA easily

.......... but do you think they are really contenders?

Objectively, Tatum is as good or better than Butler. Jason has more offensive weapons, has the quickness of youth, and is also an excellent defender. But the little things take Jason down. Two games now he has made bad decisions near the end of halves, and he's O for whatever late in games. Nor has he come up with any big defensive plays when the Celts need it most.

He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, so I think he'll get there. But it's tough on the Celts right now, trying to close things out with a guy who should be a college senior as their best player.

I really love this story the 76ers bloggers wrote before the season started...
“Why I’m retiring to Florida” by Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler finally explains why he decided to retire and move to Florida in the middle of his basketball prime.

There's a lot of players better than Butler, but he just has a gear that other players don't have. The guy just wills teams to victories, and that's a rare trait.

Jimmy's conditioning is next level. Always has been. He always has gas in the tank to make a play at the end of the game.

The more I watch Jimmy played this post-season the angrier I get at the two-headed morons who used to run this front office.

Wow. Miami with just one loss so far in the playoffs (and it was in OT) and now just two wins away from the freaking NBA Finals. Go Jimmy.

Yep. And he's doing this without the help of a super team. The talent level on their roster is something we could've replicated.

Our Front Office could never create the culture that we see in Miami. We replaced those clowns so maybe we can turn it around. For now it is just nice to see Jimmy play with a team and a franchise that is on his wavelength

milked the clock for a 30 ft 3pt attempt with the regulation clock running down in a tie game in game 1. like he's damian lillard or something. you only need 1 point! take it to the hole!

i would argue that we had that culture both under skiles and under thibs. that was more pax than garpax, though

Another Heat win, another reminder that GarPax chose Hoiberg and the assortments of younger and more athletic "talents" over Jimmy Butler. That's the likes of MCW, Jerian Grant, Denzel Valentine, Bobby Portis, and the PG of the future Cam Payne.

Paxson didn't know when to quit and Jerry was too attached to him. Michael Reiinsdorf took some time yo get rid of them but i bet if he was in control a few years earlier, Pax would have been gone earlier.

You have an homegrown all star...you need to figure out a way to build around him. Pax's stupid comments about Jimmy is still irritating.

Butler is 2 games away from the NBA finals.

With a FO that firmly believed in him and bought into his ways and embraced him.

Makes you think.

Philly do come off as the biggest losers in this though. They should have ditched Simmons and Brown in 2019 to keep Butler.

Makes me hopeful under Arturas.

Things can quickly change in the NBA.

What really scary about this, the Heat are only going to get better. Riley is like a dog with a bone, he will do whatever it takes to improve the roster.

If they get to and win the finals they will retool and bring in another talent to help win again.

He's built a team around Wade and Shaq, a team around LeBron, Wade, Bosh and now a team around Jimmy Butler.

For now, sure, but Miami will run out of money and valuable assets and when that day comes....Miami will be screwed.
