If Jimmy doesnt show up, this will be a 20plus point loss to end the season. And Lebron aint shooting no jumpers tonight.

And I said it a few games ago, Bams impact is zero this series. They need to have Olynyk out there to open the floor.

Miami got to stop thinking to pass on every drive. Olynyk needs some playing time if they want to see AD outside the paint.

This is getting really ugly. Sad ending to such a hard fighting team. But they look like they've run out of gas.

Really bad showing tonight. I get he's had some injuries, and it probably makes sense to ride with him to the end, but I don't like how Spo let these last 5 minutes get out of control. Olynyk or Leonard probably deserved a 2 minute look.

Re: Around The NBA
Well, it was a fun few games there. I didn't expect to watch much of the Finals at all. Certainly won't be watching the ESPN LeBron circle jerk that's going to be the second half. Forever respect to Jimmy for his incredible effort in game 5 - I hope he does some nifty things tonight in the 2nd half, but for now I'd rather watch a boring baseball game between two teams I don't give a crap about than this basketball game.

Re: Around The NBA
Even with Jimmy going out in a bad way, I am so proud of him this finals.
Shoot I had the Lakers winning in a sweep and at worst the world had it 5 games. Especially with Bam and Dragic going out early. Getting to a game 6 was an amazing feat. If anything got accomplished, it was the world seeing how much of a bad boy Jimmy G Buckets is.
Hes had one of the greatest finals series ever. He will always be a bull to me. Just like with Derrick and Jo.
Now lets get this new era of the Chicago Bulls going this offseason. GO BULLS!!!!

Re: Around The NBA
AD at center just changed everything. Miami is lost. We all knew playing AD at center is what is optimal, I know he doesn't want to play it full time but you see what he can do.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

What we are seeing is you need an offensively skilled center to keep AD honest.

Re: Around The NBA
Just comes to show you that if you're a 6'9 center and rely on athleticism, you'd better hope you're in awesome shape and healthy, especially on the big stage. Bam has looked like utter trash the last 2 games. There's something seriously wrong with him--either health-wise or conditioning-wise. Barely gets enough lift to dunk at his height and reach; on a bunch of occasions he couldn't get 3 foot bunnies to go in because he can't get off the floor; he missed a wide open dunk last game because he barely got over the rim.
Can't get up above the rim to contest anything, can't move his feet, gets blown by. Anthony Davis is just wrecking the Heat and not even bothering guarding him on D so he's pretty much permanently camped in the lane.
On another note, kudos to the Lakers. They're playing D from the 90s Heat/Knicks playbook--if you foul them 5 times a possession, the refs will stop calling it after a while and you just run them over. I can appreciate that as an old-timer. The sheer amount of contact that goes on every switch, the amount of elbows thrown, pushes in the back, holding, etc. That's as old school as it gets. You can see that the Heat are like deer in the headlights and can't handle that kind of physicality--they're panting with exhaustion and can't make a FT to save their lives.
All that pretty motion and P&R heavy O that doesn't have a big to score easy points grinds to a halt when the zebras let the D play very aggressively on the switch and it has a legit 7-foot anchor on D behind them. It took the GOAT to beat these kind of Ds consistently; so whomever wants to compare eras, just see the perfect example of how much it takes out of you when you have to wrestle a guy every possession down the floor.

No, what you really need are multiple quality perimeter defenders and ballhandlers who can take the load off of your only guy who can actually do both.
The complete lack of both things from Herro/Nunn/Robinson just put waaaaay too much of a load on Jimmy.

He is probably still not recovered and is out of rhythm. Taking Olynyk out completely is a puzzling decision.

That too..But, a good offensive Center can get AD out of the paint He is not taxed on the defensive end. On offense . he is feasting on 2nd chance points plus the bad perimetrr defense is letting Lebron make great passes.
