Caruso for Giddey and Dieng is the trade I pined for last season. It only happened due to Giddey having his off court issue.

Giddey was way underutilized. He needs the ball in his hands. He can make Coby Ayo and Pat much better. Get him a lob threat and we may have something. Add more shooters.

This is def the end of DDR.

Ideally we keep Zach because Giddey will up his value like crazy.

The bulls continue to stay dumb because now they have to pay a guy who flicks his hair 10 times every defensive possession.

Saw this on the general message board... lol

That was me. The hair flicking during the playoffs made me so angry to watch.

We just saw Giddey be absolutely unplayable vs the Mavs in the playoffs.

This is literally such a misguided take, he didn't fit with a ball dominant player like SGA so he was in a different role.

He was "unplayable" next to SGA, he was not unplayable.

If we reconfigure the team to try and play to his strengths awesome. I just don't see a chance in hell of it happening.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

It’s actually quite easy. Let DDR walk. Draft shooting.

I’ve seen a lot of people refer to him as a PG. But most places that I’ve looked have him listed as a SG. Am I out of the loop!

Not surprised by the mixed feelings in here, some are a bit over-exaggerated, but overall I like this trade.

I don't love it, I feel the Bulls could have got some sort of draft capital out of OKC even if just 2nd round picks, but Giddey is a good young player IMO.

Plus I'm an Aussie, so good to see another Aussie on the team after all these years.

As far as the draft goes, I don't see the Bulls picking up Devin Carter, unless they use Coby/Ayo to move up in the draft without using the 11.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy. :kissmybutt:

I'm honestly ok with this trade for one key reason and that is "looks like they picked a direction - rebuild"...i like a guard line-up of Ayo/Coby/Giddey to grow together. It also makes trading Zach much "easier" since you have those 3 young guards.

I also now see a DDR sign+trade likely

quite easy and JR run joints don't seem to align that often in my lifetime.

Well, at least we didn't include him in a Zach or a Vuc trade.

As much I loved AC, how many games is he gonna play next year?

Can't wait til Zach, Demar, Vuc are traded and then see the board go up in flames again for actually trading them or some ****

Who? They probably won't draft a guard. Knecht might be there at 11. Who else? Holland and Matas aren't shooters (currently). Cody Williams? Tristan da Silva? Kyle Filipowski?

He is 100% a PG. He isn't a spot up shooter. He's not a defender. He's a guy that isn't really good enough to justify high usage, but that isn't really doing much else if he's not trying to make plays.

I hope like hell he improves, but right now he's the starting PG, he has to be. No other role works.

Giddey is going to be excellent for LaVine as well, both from a production and value building standpoint.

He plays SG because Shai plays PG. Here he'll play PG.

Did we really not get even one pick in this deal?

And are the Bulls announcing any extra safe guards being put in place surrounding community events including players and children/teenagers?

Bingo.

Impacts the draft as well. I think we can put the Carter rumors to bed unless AK plans on trading one of Coby or Ayo.

Idk, Billy likes 3 guard lineups and the team now lacks a POA defender. Carter fills that need.

I wouldn’t make a lot of fit judgments right now for two reasons: 1) this move suggests AK wants to shake things up this offseason, so more moves are likely and you can’t spend too much time thinking about Giddey with the current roster, and 2) this move suggests AK is actually thinking long-term, at least to some extent, which means you grab a young talented guy with upside now and worry about fit later. Bonus points because bad fit = worse team = maybe keep your pick,

I would be angry too. Caruso embodies the exact opposite in terms of attitude.
